This Town and Country sedan was originally delivered by Kemper
Motor Company of St. Paul, Minnesota, to William G. Kohls. It was
refinished in the early 1980s but otherwise remained original and
well preserved until it was acquired by a former owner in 2013, at
which time a restoration was commissioned by the Ruozzi brothers of
Breinigsville, Pennsylvania. It was restored in the period color of
Sumac Red with a correct red leather and taupe Bedford Cord
interior. The car is fitted with a MoPar sun visor, reverse light,
Jiffy Jet windshield washer, exhaust extension, and MoPar automatic
battery filler. The heater, roof rack, radio, dual mirrors, dual
spotlights, and fog lights are all original options delivered with
this car when it was new, as documented by the original sales
order.
In 2013 the car was judged Best Pre-war American Classic at Radnor
Hunt and Best Wood-Bodied Car at the St. Michaels Concours
d'Elegance, followed by Most Elegant Post-war Car at the Elegance
at Hershey in 2014. Finally, in 2015 it received top honors in a
special Town and Country class at the Amelia Island Concours
d'Elegance, where it beat out many of the other top Town and
Countries in the world. The car was purchased in 2018 by the
current owner and has since resided in a prominent private
collection. The car is accompanied by its Chrysler Heritage
certificate, build sheets, an original invoice, and original
handbooks.
A CCCA Full Classic, this is one of the finest Town and Country
sedans available anywhere, and it will be a standout in the finest
collection of American Classics. To view this car and others
