This fully restored 1966 Chevelle has the coveted '13817....' VIN
that designates it as a factory SS396. Over 70,000 SS396s were
produced in '66, but somehow many more seem to exist today. This
one is the real deal and it is a beautiful example of the Gen1
SS396, coveted by collectors and drivers alike. Flame Red paint was
freshened in 2012. Exterior fit and finish are very nice and
correct GM Rally wheels with BFG Radial T/A tires set the stance.
The black vinyl interior has been restored to near original
condition throughout, including the 'Muncie' shifter. The factory
radio is in the dash, but there is also a custom JVC/CD sound
system to play your tunes. This Chevelle is equipped with power
steering and power assisted drum brakes w/dual master cylinder.
Horsepower comes from a correct, but not matching numbers, SS396
motor that has been carefully built. It is fitted with aluminum
heads, dual-plane aluminum intake and Holley double-pumper. The big
'rat' sounds very strong. Cooling is managed by a heavy-duty
aluminum radiator and it is backed by a 4-speed manual transmission
that shifts smoothly. This Chevelle SS396 was one of those original
'Muscle Cars' that were a handful to drive, but what fun. It
belongs in your garage. ALL VEHICLES SOLD "AS IS".
