Vehicle Description
This 1941 International Harvester K-Series pickup is a classic with
just enough restoration to make it look nice, but nothing altered
or over-restored to lose that vintage feeling. In other words, many
of us would describe it as the perfect pre-war machine.
This truck holds an interesting place in history. 1941 was the
first full model year for the new K-Series, and the next year was
cut short for WWII production. The K-Series is important because it
updated International's designs into the 1940s. That means larger
fenders with integrated headlights, an intricate hood, and a broad
shoulder front end with a new grille. International Harvester made
pickups for real truck duty. That's why you have a ribbed bed made
completely out of steel, even the floor. So when you have a pickup
that's both substantial and significant, you can see why there was
a nice investment in a restoration later in life. We have a full
photo book that shows how they erased decades of workhorse wear,
but today, this one still retains a touch of a worn-in look to the
red paint that gives this a terrific honesty. So many people might
just think you have a well-done survivor, and we won't even charge
extra to keep your secret!
Inside is a cab built for long-lasting function. That means a large
three-spoke wheel, the right gauges, and a tall floor shifter for
the three-speed. You sit on a durable vinyl bench seat and gaze
through the two-piece windshield. This is true old-school motoring,
right down to the crank on the dash for your fresh air cowl.
The bold green block really radiates nicely in the engine bay. This
is the correct and hardy "Green Diamond" 213 cubic-inch
six-cylinder motor. You can tell it receive the right attention
during the restoration just by the cleanliness of the components
and freshness of the wiring. The undercarriage photos reveal more
of this clean truck and the right upgrades, like the stainless
exhaust. Still, nothing gets in the way of connecting you to the
road or that nostalgic motoring feeling.
Significance and honesty come together in a true classic pickup. So
