Vehicle Description
CPR Classic is delighted to offer this marvelous 1988 Porsche 911
G50 Carrera Coupe finished in its original color combination of
Guards Red over a tan leather interior. This G50 911 is an
excellent example that has resided with three fastidious owners
throughout its life.
The car was delivered new in Los Altos, California, to its first
owner in late 1988. It was then driven and enjoyed sparingly by the
first owner until February of 2000 when it sold to its second
owner, a Las Vegas resident after covering 29,000 miles. The second
owner of this G50 drove the car about 17,000 miles over the next
eleven years. The third and most recent owner of this 911 purchased
the car in 2011 and added it to his extensive collection of
Porsches in Palm Springs, California. Over the next eight years,
the car lived in this collection and was driven only 170 miles
during this period.
Upon arrival to CPR Classic, we found the car to be in excellent
condition, but in need of standard servicing after having spent
most of the past eight years sitting. We performed a complete major
service on the car, including all fluids and belts. It also came to
us with an added whale tail, which we chose to remove. The car is
all-original paint aside from the rear deck lid, which we
completely repainted after removing the tail. We also had all five
wheels refinished by Al Reed Polishing to correct factory finish as
they had been polished some time ago.
Original factory options on this G50 911 include:
158 - Cassette-radio Blaupunkt Reno SQR 46
395 - 16" Fuchs forged alloy wheels, front 6" with 205/55, rear 7"
with 225/50 tires
437 - 8-way electrical seat, left
438 - 8-way electrical seat, right
454 - Automatic speed control
650 - Sun-moon-roof
This gorgeous G50 Carrera has driven just over 47,000 miles in its
life and is in outstanding preserved condition. The car currently
has an aftermarket FabSpeed exhaust system; however, a stock
exhaust can be sourced and installed if the new owner prefers.
G-Body Porsches have become increasingly popular in the past few
years, with values steadily climbing. The G50 911 presents a
fantastic opportunity to purchase a Porsche 911 that is still
reasonably priced with plenty of room for growth and appreciation
left in the market. Also, G50 cars are some of the most enjoyable
and engaging Porsches you can drive, and this example hits all the
marks for a collector grade, ready to enjoy 911.
