Vehicle Description
1964 Ford F100 Pickup
The F-series of pickup has without a doubt been one of the most
successful vehicles ever sold. Starting way back in 1948 the
F-series was first introduced and continues to be produced even
today. It has been the best selling pickup in the US for over 40
years! This 1964 belongs to the 4th generation which spanned from
1960 to 1966. They started this generation with the unibody style
of pickup but that was abandoned mid way through 1963 due to some
overlooked design flaws. So in 1964 the separate cab/bed was
reintroduced and the trucks received a newly designed styleside
bed. This F100 Custom Cab is a nicely built pickup that runs just
as good. The body is solid and painted in a nice Red paint that has
a nice finish. It wears the original style stainless trim which
along with the chrome all has a great shine. It has tinted glass
throughout and all of it is in good shape. The bed is painted to
match the rest of the truck and has been well maintained. It rides
around on 15 inch chrome Smoothie wheels and the tires have plenty
of life left.
Getting this classic rolling is the 302 V8 motor under the hood.
These high performance small blocks were introduced for the Mustang
but also work perfectly in a pickup truck like this. It runs very
well and is fitted with a lot of nice add ons like the Edelbrock
valve covers and certain parts of the block and brackets are
painted Red for a clean look. It has a nice sound with dual exhaust
consisting of headers into Turbo mufflers. The engine is paired
with a 4 speed automatic transmission with overdrive to send power
back to the 10 bolt rear end. The truck comes complete with power
brakes and power steering which makes it a comfortable driver.
There are disc up front and drums in the rear. The suspension
system has been redone with new shocks and new leafs in the
rear.
The interior of the truck has a nice combination of originality and
custom components. The custom split bench seat is done in Red with
cloth inserts. It is in great shape and has custom embroidery in
the headrests. It has 4 point seat belts for both driver and
passenger. The gauge cluster is original but to the center of the
dash a custom piece was made to house the Kenwood AM/FM/CD stereo
with Bluetooth. In front of the driver is a Black tilt column
topped with a Grant steering wheel. Moving through the gears is a
breeze with the custom B&M ratchet style shifter mounted to the
floor.
There are a lot of classic truck fans out there and this F100
doesn't disappoint. It has a great look and runs well.
