Vehicle Description
This is a frame off restored 1964 Chevrolet Bel Air 2 door sedan.
The current owner has spared no expense in restoring this car as
close to 'factory original' as possible with the intent of keeping
her forever. We will attempt to describe the car as accurately as
possible but there are a multitude of items that are not listed.
She has always lived in California and Arizona. During restoration
the body was stripped to bare metal. Assured this car has never
been in an accident. She was originally born with a small block V8
but now has a 409 C.I., X block, QG code, 340 HP L33 engine from a
1965 passenger car, (not a low compression truck engine). The
engine was rebuilt, balanced, and restored in all the right ways.
To insure she runs cool the current owner added the following new
items; black painted heavy duty aluminum radiator, high volume
water pump and in addition to the factory fan a large hidden
electric fan was added. This electric fan is automatically
controlled to come on whenever it might be needed, such as in heavy
traffic. Included is a factory original rebuilt Carter AFB
carburetor and new electronic ignition for dependability. The
transmission is a rebuilt 400 turbo. Differential is rebuilt to
include new 3:36 gears, bearings and a positraction unit. Front
brakes have been changed out to new disks with power assist and
rear brakes feature new drums, hardware, and wheel cylinders. She
is a factory air car and the complete system has been gone through
including the compressor rebuilt. Suspension is rebuilt and updated
to include a new close ratio steering box, power steering, 4 new
factory stock coil springs, shock absorbers, new bushings, tie rod
ends, ball joints, and front and rear sway bars. He also added
period correct Cragar wheels and new tires. Factory exhaust
manifolds and new exhaust pipes and mufflers were added to complete
the original stock look and sound. Every piece of glass was
replaced with new. All weatherstrips and window run channels.
