For Sale: 1953 Buick Roadmaster Skylark in woodland hills, California

Vehicle Description

1953 Buick Skylark Convertible, A frame Off restoration was performed starting the process in 1992 by Greg Cook of Gettysburg PA, This was a complete nut and bolt restoration with all mechanicals as well as cosmetics being performed on a Rust free example, I Have a photo book with the process of restoration that can be seen in the photo section. In 1992 Andy Cohen owner of Beverly Hills Motoring Accessories purchased the car at the Imperial Palace auction in Las Vegas Nevada for $98,000.00 plus commission and drove the car back to his Home in Bel Air California, It has been owned by Mr. Cohen since 1992 and has travelled less than 7000 miles since his Purchase. Unfortunately Mr. Cohen Passed Away In October of 2019, anyone that knew Mr. Cohen knew he was a true Car enthusiast and this and his 1941 Ford Woody were his favorite cars and used them for many car shows as well as Rally’s.
This car is in very nice condition as you can see in the photos that were just taken of the Skylark, it is not a Pebble Beach show car and the restoration was done in 1992 but an excellent Driving as well very presentable example of a rare and desirable Buick.
Original Black exterior is very nice, Paint is deep and shines well, some checking to the hood, a touch up to the driver door, complete with all trim and bright work, very nice chrome but not show quality, great panel fit, absolutely no rust issues. Excellent Hertz style convertible top that operates smooth and aligns correct when closed, windows also are working correct recent hydraulic system flush. The car sits on its correct wire wheels (some wheels have some peeling of the chrome on the outer lip as seen in the photos) The car has Bias Ply tires so it does track a little on the highways at speeds over 60 MPH maybe a new set of White wall radials would be a good choice if the new owner drives the car often.
Interior is Black w white accents and is leather, this color combination of the black exterior and black and white interior is correct for this car dictated by the data plate under the hood. All lights, signals, horn, and radio are working correct including the radio station adjustment on the driver floor next to the high beam button. Carpets are excellent as well as dash, door panels and headliner. The clock is not working.
The original 322 Nail Head motor has been rebuilt and has under 7000 miles on it as well as the transmission. A recent major service was performed and the carburetor was rebuilt, fuel system including the gas tank was redone as well. This car starts up 1st shot idles smooth, there are no leaks, no smoke and no strange noises, the transmission shifts well though all gears, suspension is good as well as the brake system. The car does not run hot and stays a tad under the half way mark on the Temp gauge, all interior gauges are working. 1953 Buick after shave and original gold keys are included
I have listed many photos of the car, they are recent and if there are any other photos needed I am happy to take them. I can provide shipping assistance in or out of the country, financing options are available with JJBest 1800-USA-1965 NADA list these car as follows:
