-- SALE PENDING -- Styling for the Pantera came courtesy of the young Tom Tjaarda at Ghia, and the crisp lines and long snout sat atop a pressed-steel unit chassis, while its off-the-shelf 310-hp, 351ci Cleveland V8 was situated midship and paired with a 5-speed ZF transaxle. Weight distribution was predictably biased toward the rear, 150 mph was not out of the question. Quality control continued to improve from the early models and the pointy black bumpers arrived in 1973. Subsequently, due to emission standards and fewer than 6,000 Panteras sold, Ford pulled the plug on the program after 1974. Generally, Pantera enthusiasts felt the Ford years were the most sought-after.
Showing just over 14,000 actual miles from new, this is a mostly original car, including paint, interior, engine, transmission and exhaust, and even the original stickers on the shocks. Comes complete with the original owner’s manual, sales brochure, stock parts catalog, technical service bulletin booklet, front bra cover, tool roll, tire inflator and various other items, making this a truly complete De Tomaso Pantera.
