For Sale: 1970 Pontiac GTO in Charlotte, North Carolina

Vehicle Description

The beloved GTO is a direct result of what happens when a renegade car division that's ran by busted-knuckle gearheads defies corporate culture, 'borrows' Ferrari's most coveted name and stages an octane-fueled war against crosstown rivals. It offered buyers the very real opportunity to walk in to a Pontiac showroom and, with the flip of a checkbook, purchase a one-way ticket to hot style and big performance. Today, classics like this documented Ram Air III Judge coupe, wrapping correct aesthetics around a numbers-matching drivetrain, are perfect investments for enthusiasts who want a storied classic that's fun to show and drive. And, if you missed out 50 years ago, it's your well-deserved chance to walk in to our showroom, sign a few papers and relive the glory of the muscle car era!

VERDORO VANQUISHER

Polished and ready to roll, this authentic Ram Air III GTO Judge was, according to its previous owner, completely rust-free at the time of its detailed, frame-off restoration. Naturally, that clean fuselage has been correctly coated in awesome Verdoro Green 2-stage and dressed in a full array of Judge war paint. At the front of that pigment, a prominent grille centers a legendary "G T O" script between clean parking lamps, stainless-trimmed headlights and a tasteful chin spoiler. Behind that grille, an appropriately labeled Ram Air Hood plants an optional tachometer in front of fresh glass, which is cased in polished drip rails and polished stainless frames. Beneath that greenhouse, a correct remote mirror reflects traditional door handles, stainless wheel lips and attractive rocker guards. And at the back of the car, a polished bumper hangs clean taillights between a large wing and polished, quad-outlet exhaust tips.

RAM AIR III Judge

Peek under the car's fully functional hood and you'll find a 400 cubic inches of storied Pontiac power that hangs a matching 125162 partial VIN in front of a correct 9799914 casting number. At the top of that Turquoise mill, a coated Edelbrock 4-barrel bridges the gap between polished fuel lines and a correct, cast iron intake. That air/fuel mixture floods correct, cast iron heads that are finished with polished rocker covers. Compression is sparked by a quality aftermarket distributor, which sequences fire through fresh Prestolite cables. Beneath those cables, factory exhaust manifolds make quick work of spent gases. At the front of those tubes, old school pulleys spin factory power steering opposite a factory AC compressor. And a fresh brake booster and stock radiator keep the fluids flowing.

AS PONTIAC INTENDED

When the engine jumps to life, it twists torque through an original Turbo-Hydramatic 400 3-speed automatic, which hangs a correct "70 PD" assembly tag opposite a matching 125162 partial VIN. That gearbox spins power to a requisite 10-bolt pumpkin. That drivetrain pushes a clean GTO chassis that been fully restored to factory specifications. Turns come courtesy of correct power steering. Correct power front disc and rear drum brakes provide easy stops. There's a 2.5-inch, aluminized exhaust system that growls through Flowmaster 40 Series mufflers. And at the corners of the car's glossy floors, correct Pontiac Rally II wheels lap G70-14 Firestone Wide Oval Super Sport tires.

SADDLE UP

Between the doors, things are clean and traditional thanks to correct Saddle vinyl that was affixed during the car's detailed restoration. Firm bucket seats frame a correct console, which is centered on a factory shifter. A familiar dash hangs correct factory air conditioning and correct Rally telemetry behind a striking combination of engine-turned and faux wood surfacing. And the driver guides a Custom Sport Steering Wheel around a color-keyed, tilting column.

Restored and fully sorted, this iconic GTO will be an absolute pleasure to own! And with its killer looks, the car will turn heads 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Shopping for some documented muscle that you can enjoy for years to come? Check out your next classic!
