Vehicle Description
This Dart was purchased new by the current owner's grandfather in
1971 and he drove it until 1998 . After acquiring and driving the
car for about 12 years with the total mileage of 76000, the
grandson commissioned a two year complete restoration that ended up
costing over $200,000 (receipts available). The total restoration
was both mechanical and cosmetic and included a fresh 360 CID V8
engine, rebuilt 3 speed automatic transmission, new front disc
brakes, new air conditioning, and power steering, New interior,
rebuilt gauges, new carpet, headliner, door panels, rebuilt seats,
new seat belts, new rubber seals, new glass, new, new new!
The Dart today has impossibly perfect body lines, gaps and
paint.
This car represents when emotion overtakes logic and the result is
a crazy perfect 1971 Dodge Dart that is better than new. The items
that are not stock are: the 360 V8 engine replaced the stock 6
cylinder, Vintage air conditioning and heating was installed
beautifully, new front power disc brakes replaced the original
drums, and stock appearing wider wheels and tires replaced the
skinny originals. All these updates were subtly completed and the
results are fabulous. A little over 5000 miles have been added
since the restoration was completed in 2013. The driving dynamics
of this car really confirms that the restoration was thorough and
complete. The engine and driveline operate flawlessly, the steering
and brakes operate like a brand new car with on shimmy, wobble or
wander. Steering and braking are straight and drama free. You could
drive this car to the store or across the country with complete
confidence.
This car is consigned by a motivated seller and comes with a clean
and clear California title in the consignor's name.
