Vehicle Description
Some Chevrolet nameplates have a long and storied history. Legends
such as Impala, Corvette, Camaro, and Chevelle come to mind. But
they all have to bow to the senior member of the fleet, the
Suburban, which began in the 1930s. Maxmotive is pleased to present
this amazing 1970 model. People love these trucks, but they were
often worked hard and it's hard to find one in good condition.
Imagine a 70's style Suburban built with today's technology and
quality. This one is a dream come true for classic Suburban fans.
It has been thoroughly restored to a level often reserved for those
other classic Chevys. Just 890 miles have been logged since
completion of the build. How nice is it? It comes with four 4-foot
mirrors so you can proudly display it at shows. But it's more than
a pretty face. Let's talk about hardware. Power comes from a 400
CID small block, an engine known for its bottom end torque, making
it a perfect powerplant for a truck. But, being a small block, it's
just natural to add a few extra goodies, right? The carb and intake
are from Edelbrock. Black custom valve covers and custom air
cleaner top it off. You'll also notice a serpentine belt drive in
keeping with the modernization theme of the build. Reliability and
functionality are the goals. A 700R4 transmission provides a
welcome overdrive gear, and the valve body has been tuned to give
it some crispness in the shifts. At first glance, the dash looks
stock, but a closer look reveals the presence of Classic
Instruments gauges. They look great in the stock positions, and
deliver a little extra accuracy. 1970 Subs usually had interiors
with no carpeting or back seat. There were no comfort features
except maybe power steering and brakes. The interior in this one is
a game changer. First, the seats are not only pretty, but they're
super soft and comfortable. Adjust the tilt steering to your taste.
The rich black carpet and headliner are - dare we say it -
luxurious. And the cargo bay is carpeted too. The interior is
heated and cooled by a Vintage Air system with Gen IV controls. The
Custom Autosound stereo fits neatly in the dash and looks stock,
but offers big upgrades in sound and sound sources. In homage to
the well-loved 3-door body style, the exterior of the truck has
received only minor, but effective, tweaks. Just the right stance
comes courtesy of a CPP lowered suspension. In combination with the
20-inch chrome Rocket wheels, it gives the truck a premium look
without being forced. Staggered Continental tires expand on the
quality look and feel. A stock bright grille and chrome bumper
contrast with the rich red paint that shows off the straightness of
those long body panels. In the back, the bumper is also chrome,
with beautiful cutouts for the dual chrome exhaust outlets. This
one has the side-hinged rear doors for that final touch of classic
Suburbaness. A supremely driveable, liveable, luxurious, and
beautiful 1970 Chevrolet Suburban is now a reality at
MAXmotive.
