Vehicle Description
In 1975 William Kay, then president of Hurst, summed it up best. He
said, "The Hurst/Olds is designed to provide a fine balance of
luxury, styling, performance and lasting value for the individual
who demands more than transportation from his automobile." This
excellent example of the breed has the optional W-30 455 engine
package. The mileage is believed to be 77020. Pampered miles to be
sure! The 1975 Hurst/Olds distinguishes itself as the first GM car
to feature the Hurst/Hatch T-top roof. These have a nice smoked
tint in the glass, and add an upscale touch to the car's appearance
plus, of course, the capability of open air cruising. For 1975, the
Hurst/Olds is based on the formal roof Cutlass Supreme. That
sumptuous padded white half roof is another unique feature. Notice
the absence of opera windows. There are even more exclusive
features, like swivel bucket seats with removable cushions, and a
louvered hood. Factory air conditioning rounds out a well-equipped
Oldsmobile. A deviation from stock is a complete dual exhaust
system, a popular and effective mod to let the big 455 breath. But
there's more. This car has a unique Hurst digital tachometer
mounted on the console. Not only is it a Hurst item, but it was
optional. So it's rare. And yes, it works! This precious device not
only indicates engine RPM, but is also an excellent indicator of
the condition and quality of this stately 1975 455 Hurst/Olds.
Lasting value indeed. William Kay's words still ring true
today.
