This 1971 Ford Bronco was acquired by the seller seven years ago out of Pueblo, Colorado and subsequently underwent refurbishment and modification as a father-son project. The body and chassis were refinished using orange paint and Rhino Lining, and 4″ of suspension and body lift with Rancho shocks was fitted along with 35″ off-road tires. Power comes from a carbureted 347ci V8 stroker paired with a four-speed manual transmission, a two-speed transfer case, a 9″ Ford rear end, and a Dana 44 front differential. Additional modifications include a custom-upholstered interior, a six-point roll cage, a bimini top, and half door inserts. This Bronco is offered with refurbishment records, a black hardtop, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.
Highlights of the Bronco
The body was repainted in orange following rust repairs which included panel replacement as well as removal of corroded sheet metal from the floors and cargo area. Steel bumpers are fitted with a brush bar, a swing-away tire carrier, and LED lighting. Additional modifications include cut rear wheel arches, plastic fender flares, black half door inserts, and a domed fiberglass hood with hold-down pins. A dent in the grille is said to have occurred when the truck rolled into a tree.
The truck has been lifted 4.5″ with a 3.5″ suspension lift and a 1″ body lift to clear 35″ Milestar Patagonia tires mounted on black 15″ Eagle wheels. Manually-locking Warn hubs are featured up front, and Rancho shocks have been fitted along with power-assisted front disc brakes and rear drums. The power steering box and pump have been replaced under current ownership.
Front bucket and rear bench seats are upholstered in black vinyl with fabric inserts and orange piping, while the floors are coated in Rhino Lining. A six-point roll cage is bolted to the body and wears a bimini top. The sale also includes an unmounted black hardtop. Plumbing has been run for a heater which is included in the sale but has not been installed.
An aftermarket steering wheel rests ahead of a column-mounted tachometer as well as a factory-style instrument cluster with a five-digit odometer reading approximately 33k miles. Total chassis mileage is unknown. The wiring harness was replaced and the windshield wipers converted from vacuum to electrical operation. A Clarion CD player with Bluetooth is located in the locking center console between the front seats finished with Alpine amp and subwoofer.
The carbureted 347ci stroker is fitted with Ford Racing rocker covers, an MSD distributor, a Mean Green alternator, a new fuel system, and a replacement starter. Additional modifications in the bed-lined engine bay include an aluminum radiator with an electric cooling fan, an Optima Redtop battery, and more. An oil change was performed approximately 100 miles ago.
Power is sent through an NP435 four-speed manual transmission with an extended linkage and a Dana 20 T-Type two-speed transfer case to Ford 9″ rear and Dana 44 front differentials. The frame has been refinished in Rhino Lining along with the undersides of the floors.
