How about a classic SUV to take camping, hiking or fishing? MotoeXotica Classic Cars is pleased to present this 1990 Jeep Grand Wagoneer, considered one of the ?Best of the Breed? by collectors. This is one of 6,449 Grand Wagoneers sold in 1990 and it is an original North Carolina SUV. Finished in Bright White (code GW6) with faux woodgrain panels, the truck?s paint and trim are in overall good order. Its bodywork is straight and the engine bay is very tidy, the cargo area is ready for your sports or outdoor gear and the Napa Legend battery appears new. The chrome bumpers are in good, original order, there?s a roof rack for extra store and two fog lights perch above the front bumper. This classic Jeep rolls on Goodyear Wrangler Trailrunner AT tires, size 235/75R15 at every corner. Each tire is mounted to a factory alloy wheel with gray inlays. The wheels and tires are all in very good condition. Under the hood is a numbers-matching original AMC 360 CID V-8 engine with two-barrel carburetor and is linked to Chrysler?s renowned A727 Torqueflite three-speed automatic transmission. The engine has been completely rebuilt in 2017 and has approximately 1,000 miles on it, as stated by the previous owner and included with receipts. Driver convenience equipment includes air-conditioning (inop), power steering, power brakes, power windows, power front bucket seats, tilt steering column, rear defroster grid, rear wiper and washer. Note: side view mirrors, rear window and left rear window are inop. Inside is a burgundy (Cordovan) interior. The front buckets with center armrest are plush while a rear bench offers room for the kids or grandkids to stretch out. The burgundy carpet is in satisfactory shape while the headliner, two spoke steering wheel and inner door panels are all in very good condition. The instrument panel looks great and the steering column borrows from the GM supply bin along with the column-mounted gearshift lever, multi-function turn signal stalk, ignition switch and tilt steering lever. A Panasonic AM/FM stereo with CD player rounds out the interior. Chrysler Corporation bought American Motors out in early 1987. At the time of Chrysler's purchase, customer demand for the Grand Wagoneer continued to be steady, and it was a very profitable model, reportedly generating approximately five to six thousand dollars on each unit. The 1989?1991 model years are considered the ?best of the breed? due to a number of upgrades. These include upgraded wood siding and modernized aluminum alloy wheels that lost their gold colored inlays in favor of gunmetal grey metallic. Chrysler also introduced an electrocoat primer for better rust proofing and all exterior colors were now applied in a two-stage base-clearcoat system. Many improvements were made for the 1989?1991 model year series, including a quality replacement for the earlier, leak-prone air conditioning compressor, the addition of the visually identifiable rear wiper/washer assembly, as well as a general improvement in fit and finish. An interior overhead console, taken from Chrysler's popular minivans, was also added. This functional console featured much brighter map lights, an outside temperature sensor and compass, a storage compartment for sunglasses and an infrared remote-controlled key-less entry system. The Wagoneer enjoyed one of the longest production runs of any Jeep product. Its powerful 5.9L V-8 engine and high towing capacity and the fact that unlike most competitive full-size SUVs of the era, it had four doors, these made the Grand Wagoneer popular among its many repeat buyers from the 1960s through the 1980s. By 1990, it was the longest running domestically produced vehicle (28 years) on the same platform. Documentation includes original 1990 owner?s manual, a copy of the 1989 Jeep owner?s manual, assorted receipts, insurance and license documentation, and a 1989 Jeep warranty guide. Competition to this Jeep in 1990 included Chevrolet?s K-5 Blazer, Dodge?s Ramcharger, Ford?s Bronco, GMC?s Jimmy, Mitsubishi?s Montero, Nissan?s Pathfinder, Toyota?s 4Runner and Land Cruiser 80. If you need a new farm vehicle, a new estate taxi or if you had a Grand Wagoneer before and you desire another one, stop by MotoeXotica Classic Cars soon to check this one out.
