The automotive scene can be a fickle place. Trends come, go, fizzle
and sometimes even cycle back under the guise of "retro". While
many builders strive to create cars that offer the flavor of the
day, others use calculated observations to transform premier
classics into timeless customs. This hot-rodded 210 features plenty
of modern must-haves, like air conditioning, supple upholstery and
chromed Coys wheels. But items like a spry LS2 and a smooth 4-speed
automatic transmission certainly underscore the fact that the car
marches to its own beat. Looking for a razor-sharp custom that's
ready to attract big crowds and big trophies? Here it is!
APPROACHABLE OPULENCE
Built to turn heads while conquering the road, this sweet Chevy is
the beneficiary of a nut-and-bolt, rotisserie restoration that
wraps original sheetmetal in rich PPG 2-stage. At the front of
those timeless aesthetics, a broad bumper centers two guards on a
stainless grille, clear parking lamps and stainless-trimmed
headlights. At the top of that grille, a Chevrolet-branded hood
props a requisite Jetbird in front of a stainless-trimmed post
greenhouse that's cleared by polished wipers. At the base of that
restoration-fresh glass, a Chevrolet-branded profile seats small
mirrors in front of traditional door handles and ornate speed
spears that are mostly original. And at the back of the car, a
second broad bumper centers two more guards on a Chevrolet-branded
trunk and monochromatic tail lamps.
PROVEN PERFORMANCE
Toss the hood and you'll find a hot LS2 small block that looks
ALMOST as good as it runs! At the front of that mill, a polished
Street & Performance air filter funnels wind in to a composite
intake by way of a factory throttle body. Under that "LS2" branded
box, a polished serpentine drive spins modern power steering amid a
polished alternator and a polished AC compressor. At the sides of
those ancillaries, pliable Taylor plug wires split coated headers
and lovingly massaged fuel rail covers. In front of those covers, a
glossy core support hangs a polished Griffin radiator between a
polished expansion tank and a big electric puller fan. Details like
bright hoses and polished brake components ensure first-class
presentation. And all that glitz is framed in glossy PPG 2-stage,
which coats smooth fenders and a crisp firewall.
ARTFUL CRUISING
Under the car, 1950s-era bones have been fully restored and fitted
with a thick rear sway bar. At the center of that clean skeleton, a
trusty 700R4 4-speed twists an 8.2-inch Drop Out axle that cages
big, 3.73 gears inside an open differential. This Chevy points
thanks to modern power rack-and-pinion steering. Stops come
courtesy of four power-assisted calipers, which squeeze a quartet
of vented rotors. Spent gases float from the aforementioned headers
in to aluminized pipes and throaty Flowmaster mufflers. Everything
rolls on cool Coys wheels, which spin 215/55ZR17 Nexen N7000s in
front of 235/55ZR17 Nexen N7000s. And the car's solid floors are
dotted with first-rate details like stainless fluid lines and a
stainless gas tank.
CHOICE CUSTOMIZATION
Open this Chevy's doors and you'll find a custom cockpit that mixes
supple red leather with the best conveniences of a modern commuter.
Front and center, a gorgeous dash seats polished billet trim around
glowing Dakota Digital VHX telemetry and cool Vintage Air
conditioning. Speaking of seating, the car's passengers ride a duo
of broad benches that, together, employ a total of seven cow hides.
Sculpted side panels frame stylish billet handles. Tunes are kept
steady thanks to a hidden Kenwood head unit. And in front of the
driver, a polished, tilting column spins a polished and
leather-wrapped steering wheel.
Owning a lights-out classic is cool. Owning a lights-out classic
that's been professionally customized is something few are lucky
enough to experience. Don't miss your chance to experience this
incredible Chevy sedan!
