Vehicle Description
This is a real-deal 1968 Chevrolet Chevelle SS396 with big block
power, hardtop appeal, and a terrific color combo. So you can dig
into the details, but you already know this is the muscle car icon
you're going to love.
Butternut Yellow is one of those defining colors for the Super
Sport Chevys. Vivid yet innocent, it made these high horsepower
cars feel unassuming - but they left an impression as they showed
everyone their taillights. This one is particularly striking
because it was given a modern clearcoat respray. It looks fantastic
under our showroom lights and even better gleaming in the sunlight.
And not only do you get the quality look of a proper investment,
but also it makes for a great contrast to the darker features like
the SS grille, blacked-out rear panel, black lower rockers, and
premium vinyl top. Plus, as a true classic American, you get
brightwork that's in all the right places like the extra wide
bumpers and the trim that outlines every inch of glass. While this
has the look of an iconic SS hardtop, right down to the dual power
bulges in the hood, there was also room for well-done custom
features. The SS badges in the front and rear are finished in red
for added aggression. And a set of larger 17-inch torque thrust
style alloys were added, but they look almost like Chevy made them
thanks to the SS center caps.
We love it when all the black exterior accents are a preview of an
all back interior, but as you look closer, there's even more appeal
here. The upholstery looks fresh from a big investment. So while
the interior follows a stock style, those button-top bucket seats
never had that much bolstering or looked that supple from the
factory. New door panels and plush carpeting complete a package
that feels terrifically fresh. The Chevelle might have been Chevy's
intermediate size coupe in the '60s, but today that means plenty of
room in the back to comfortably carry family and friends. And
everyone stays entertained with the upgraded AM/FM/cassette radio.
But while all of this seems like the perfect coupe to share, the
Chevelle saves its best treats for the driver. The classic
wood-rimmed three-spoke steering wheel feels great in your left
hand, and your right one will love resting on the horseshoe
shifter. Plus, you have a commanding view of the gauge package and
the auxiliary readouts under the dash.
This true SS has proper 396 cubic-inch big block power. Not only
does it look great filling the engine bay, but also it has the
right upgrades, like the Holley four-barrel carburetor, Edelbrock
Performer intake, MSD ignition. It fires up nicely and makes a
sweet rumble out of the dual exhaust. Chevy's TH400 three-speed
automatic transmission can handle this big power as it feeds the
stout 12-bolt rear end. Plus, you have great anytime driving
features such as power steering, power brakes w/discs up front, and
modern performance tires afforded by the modern wheels.
This coupe has been given all the right investments to be a
head-turner. So if you love big power and plenty of poise, call
