Vehicle Description
The IHC brand was an impressive utility vehicle for the rugged
rancher or farmer that needed dependable transportation with a name
they could trust. Not only were many parts interchangeable with the
farm equipment but the simplicity to work on either made it less
hassle for the owner. Produced from 1965-1980 these great vehicles
have seen a strong appreciation over the years and finding well
cared for ones are getting more difficult.
GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this 1978 Scout II Selective
Edition for your consideration. The Scout is finished in Black
Canyon with the special gold package, bought new in Whittier
California the Scout still has all the paperwork from the dealer,
original hand written bill of sale, service policy and extended
warranty hand written cards, all the original owners manuals, it
even has the original owners manual for the AM/FM radio that still
works perfectly with the original speaker.
It still has the uncut door weatherstipping. Everything from the
factory is there on the Scout and verified by the line setting
ticket in the glove box, this thing is loaded with specially
ordered options, gold package, SS2 grill, Rallye tilt steering
wheel, Saginaw PS, PB, air conditioning, 2 tone interior, stainless
roof rack with wood grain inserts. It is powered by its 345 V8
mated to a 4 speed manual transmission along with Dana axles. It
has had new parts installed consisting of complete dual stainless
Flowmaster exhaust system, rebuilt carburetor, new power steering
pump and lines, new gas tank, Rhino lined hardtop, new rear brakes,
fresh oil, new spark plugswipers, new correct 001 Black Canyon
paint, new gold select package stripes.
The Scout was ordered from the factory with the SSII grille, which
was only possible if there was a special packaged ordered, such as
the Selective Edition Package.
