Vehicle Description
Visit www.carcaveusa.com for more HD pictures. This Rat Rod style
1953 Chevy Bel Air 210 has the original Straight 6 235 engine with
a 3 speed on the column (AKA three on the tree). We brought this
Bel Air back to life after many years of exchanging hands and not
ever seeing a road. Over the years each owner made their unique
modifications so we left the physical appearance untouched. Some of
the odd modifications include red tint, playing card theme door
panels, sun visor, metal studs, antiqued grill, school bus style
rear view mirror, painted steel wheels, yellow gold bumpers, white
headlight bezels, and the list continues. To get the Bel Air back
on the road we went through the brake system, adjusted the clutch
properly, rebuilt the carb, installed new spark plugs and wires,
new fuel filter, new fuel lines, and repaired other areas as
needed. Now it runs, drives, shifts, and stops adequately although
it will need new tires in the near future. The CD player, 'Ooga'
Horn, and old school miniature midi music controller with horn are
all rewired and fully functional. One of the previous owners
chopped the rear springs giving her a lowered stance in the rear
causing the back end to occasionally drag at the exhaust. Custom
work was done to the trunk for subwoofers and an amplifier with 6x9
speakers installed in the rear deck. The body and floorpans are
great shape with little signs of rust or rot. No carpet is
currently installed for easy inspection. We assume this vehicle was
stored indoors or undercover for the majority of it's life given
the condition of the metal. Perfect to drive as is or easy repaint.
We have all the additional chrome that came with the car from the
factory available to the buyer. The wiring harness is intact but
will need attention at some point. The upholstery appears to be
original and the seats were covered when we received this Bel Air.
