EXTERIOR: This AMX has it going on- factory side exhaust, ram air
induction and Big Bad Blue. You're going to notice this AMX. It is
a genuine survivor, meaning it is in very well cared for original
condition. The body appears to be excellent, no rust or damage.
Body gaps are excellent. Doors shut like a new car. The factory
spot welds around the wheel well lips are still visible. Mostly
original paint. Just enough patina to look original but still shows
fantastic. It also features the white stripes, sport mirrors and
correct wheels. They still have their factory paint- the spokes
have gray speckle finish and the centers are charcoal. Has 30 year
old tires that aren't worn. The original trim fits the car really
well. All the trim is bright, shiny and straight. The grill is in
excellent condition, tail light lens is not cracked. All the
original glass is crystal clear. Windshield still has a 1992
village sticker. In the door jamb is an oil change sticker from
1987 with only 600 miles then the car has now! The driver's door
also has the original vin # sticker and the data tag.
INTERIOR: Inside the car is in excellent condition and it's all
original. There is one split in the driver's seat that an
upholstery guy can easily repair. The cushions, seat backs,
carpeting, headliner is in excellent shape. The center console is
mint, has a real cool factory shifter handle. Also has a factory
Am-Fm radio. What I really like is everything works like a new car.
All the interior lights work, the radio is clear, the low fuel
light works, even the headlight buzzer works until the doors shut.
The plaque on the dash says this is car number 20403. In the glove
box the light works, liner is like new and the owner's manual is
there.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Exactly as it left the factory- original 360
Ram Air 4 barrel engine and it has a factory air conditioning,
power steering and power brakes. The engine bay is the original
blue paint on excellent condition metal. All the components look
proper. The ram air assembly is complete with the heat riser coming
off the exhaust. The original valve cover has the tag that
corresponds this motor to this car.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: It is very tidy inside the trunk. Super clean
metal with the original spatter finish paint in excellent shape.
The original trunk mat is folded up in a bag, there is a new trunk
mat. There is also a very soft car cover included. The original
collapsible spare has never been used, it still has the air bottle
and jack assembly. The trunk light works. Paint is original on
bottom of the trunk lid with the original sticker and original
weatherstrip.
UNDERSIDE: No rot at all. Super clean original metal floors.
Factory undercoat with blue paint peaking out in places. The
mechanics look like they have been gone through. The front end has
new bushings, shocks and balljoints. Rear shocks were replaced. Has
disc brakes in front, brake hoses were replaced. Has original Borg
Warner automatic transmission.
Here is a rare opportunity to buy a survivor quality AMX that's
loaded up with goodies. I think the ram air and side exhaust is
really the icing on the cake for one of these cars. Rare to find a
muscle car survivor, not many people left a cool car just sitting
around. Survivors function so well when properly taken car of
because they weren't messed with. They aren't worn out either. This
is a special car.
Corvette wasn't America's only sports car. This is a 2 seater with
plenty of performance!
