Everybody loves a ‘Boat Tail’ Alfa (not just graduates!) and very few are left that are as original and unmolested as this one. Acquired from the estate of the second owner, it was sold new right here in Denver—and we have the original 1969 sales invoice from Alfa Romeo to the Denver dealer! The car has always been red, still has its original Spica fuel injection, disc wheels and hubcaps—even the original upholstery.
The 80K miles are believed to be genuine and the car now runs & drives very well. Over $25K has been spent in our shop to freshen the car up after years of storage, which included a complete fuel system rebuild, all new brakes & hydraulics, new radiator, tires & more, plus we have a large file of past service records from the enthusiastic second owner who had the car for 44 years! It even still has the original AM radio and its Alfa owner’s manuals and trunk tools.
It has some nicks and dings around the body, but is in very clean, solid condition in & out. The 1750s were the first Alfas to come stock with 4-wheel power disc brakes and were among the pioneers to incorporate fuel injection. The car has hardly any rust (per Alfa standards), no past accident damage, a good top and even the obligatory sump guard.
Unfortunately, the vast majority of boat tails have been wrecked, rusted & patched together with incorrect engines and many other indignities…so there are very few true survivors like this one.
