For Sale: 1968 Triumph TR250 in Great Falls, Virginia

Fully documented body off nut and bolt restoration by the previous owner to very high standards with performance and reliability in mind. The frame and body are totally rust free, with great panel gaps and a high-quality paint.

Many upgrades were done during the restoration however original parts were retained and are included in the sale.  All body panels and doors were removed and correctly aligned with new hardware. The interior of the vehicle has been fitted with “FatMat” for sound deadening and heat reduction.  The cylinder head was rebuilt for unleaded gas and the engine was rebuilt as well (new rings, bearings, gaskets, oil pump.)

Other details of the rebuild include; Goodparts roller rockers, Goodparts uprated front spindles, Goodparts powder coated front and rear springs, Goodparts front and rear adjustable sway bars, Goodparts uprated half shafts, Wilwood adjustable dual master cylinder, Wilwood front brakes, Goodparts differential mounting kit w/R200 Limited Slip, Spax adjustable shock absorbers front and rear with frame brace, Goodparts uprated trailing arms with adjustable brackets, high torque starter motor, 125 Amp alternator, Goodparts oil recovery system, stainless steel exhaust with 6x2x3x1x2 header with O2 sensor and dual box outlet, Goodparts triple inlet manifold with throttle bodies / Stromberg carbs, Patten Engineering triple electronic fuel injection, aluminum radiator with electric thermostatically controlled fan and mechanical fan eliminator, Goodparts polished stainless steel radiator shroud, flywheel lightened and balanced with a new performance clutch, wiring harness combines modern relays and fuses with the TBI ECM, frame refinished in POR15 and all suspension bushes were replaced with urethane, all suspension fasteners replaced with Grade 8 and the vertical links and trunnions were replaced with NOS, rare surrey top backlight and aluminum hardtop, new carpets and new leather interior panels, original seats are recovered in black leather with a white beading.

The matching numbers engine pulls extremely strong all the way to the red line with noticeably more power than a stock US spec Tr250.  All the power of the Lucas fuel injected Tr5 but with better reliability.

This tr250 has won numerous awards and was featured in a classic car magazine.   

Original parts retained and included in the sale – overdrive transmission (rebuilt), differential, carbs, steel wheels w/rostyle hub caps, brakes. 

This is a rare triumph with a surrey top.  The Triumph tr250 was only produced for 15 months between 1967 and 1968.  Only about 8,400 cars were made.  It’s is estimated that around 600 remain today.
