Vehicle Description
A 1960 Chevrolet Impala bubble top coupe is already a very
in-demand classic. And then as you dig into all the investment and
custom enhancements (everything from the taillights to the
overdrive transmission,) and soon you'll discover the custom
cruiser of your dreams.
The bold four-headlight front end and ultra-desirable "bubble top"
hardtop design already make this an instant classic. But these
coupes are also a great starting place for the right custom
additions. You see it in the details, like the sport mirrors and
expertly shaved door handles. It's all wrapped in a sleek black
that has an attention-grabbing luster. It's a great color to have,
because icons like the bright chrome bumpers, jet-inspired side
trim, and classic whitewalls all contrast nicely against the black
for added distinction. And while the tailfins wraparound the back
for one of the most daring factory designs ever, this special coupe
will also have people talking because of all the extra taillights
boldly poking out of the custom rear panel.
In the same way the whitewalls look great against the black paint,
you're going to love the white interior. It looks like it's
radiating from within this car's dark exterior, and as people get
closer, they'll see it's actually a tasteful white and cream
two-tone. The front bucket seats are a custom addition from an
Oldsmobile Starfire. They have been reupholstered with comfy cloth
inserts, and the rear seat has been done to match. You have a
custom center console that houses the AM/FM/CD stereo, Sirius
satellite radio control, SunPro auxiliary gauges, and the B&M
Quicksilver shifter. And while you still get the classic-style
Impala steering wheel, beyond that you now have a modern GPS unit
mounted on the steering column.
With a custom look inside and out, you better believe the engine
bay was a full custom creation, too. It starts with mirrored panels
on the firewall and hood. Plus, the clean inner fenders and smooth
radiator shroud really funnel all your attention to the bright and
tidy motor in the middle. This is a Chevy 350 cubic-inch V8 that
has upgrades like an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, Edelbrock
Performer intake, and UltraDyne camshaft. It fires up nicely,
produces plenty of power, and there's a sweet sound out of the dual
exhaust. That makes for a great cruising coupe. It's also why this
has more great driver upgrades like a Nova front end, power
steering, and power brakes w/discs up front. The transmission is
even a 700R4 four-speed automatic w/highway-friendly overdrive.
This is the ultra-desirable bubble top Impala that loves to run and
loves to show off. So if you want a head-turning classic you can
