One of only 140 DB6 Volantes manufactured, this DB6 Volante enjoyed long term ownership in the UK. Having been located by English gentleman living in the United States and who knew this DB6 Volante from his younger years. He purchased it and entrusted to UK marque specialists for a complete and thorough restoration to as new condition throughout.
During the restoration, this DB6 Volante was professionally converted to left hand drive as if it was originally delivered in this fashion from the factory, it is exacting. The engine was uprated to 4.2 Liter specifications, the original automatic Borg Warner automatic gearbox (known as “slush box” due to its extremely slow, awkward and sloppy shifting from gear to gear) was replaced with a modern ZF 4-speed automatic gearbox. This truly transforms the car and its driving as an automatic and makes the drive most enjoyable. The shift lever mechanism remains original, but with only the slightest modification to the gear plate to distinguish its now being a 4-speed and for accurate location of the shifter lever. Bespoke air conditioning has been installed with vents located in the lower driver and passenger side knew panels. An enormous amount of money was spent on this restoration to ensure it only having the best of the best specifications and equipment, but at the same time producing an incredible vintage driving experience with just enough modern amenities to make it that much more pleasurable.
This DB6 Volante was recently acquired by Autosport Designs and will be offered for resale. It is absolutely superb in every way, an exceptional driving experience and ready for show or immediately touring pleasure.
