Rare Original ’65 with Performance and Safety Updates

This Mustang Coupe takes you back to the Ford showrooms of the 60’s:

• Paint and Chrome

Painted in Wimbledon White, this car presents as a great tribute to the original Mustang line-up with near show-quality paint.  The chrome is every bit as nice as is the stainless trim.

• Interior

The Black interior is in excellent condition. The instruments have all been replaced and look as original.  The dash looks as new.  The headliner has a temporary repair.

• Engine

The engine, believed to be the original, had its heads rebuilt in 2012.  It has more recently been upgraded to a new Holly 4160  4-bbl carburetor with an Edelbrock manifold. It starts right up and delivers a herd of ponies when you put your foot into it.  A new aluminum radiator assures proper cooling in the hottest weather.

The engine and engine compartment were fully cleaned and detailed in 2019 and the car is now ready for the shows.

• Transmission

The floor-mounted automatic 3-speed transmission shifts smoothly without hesitation or hard shifts.

• Chassis

The underside of this Coupe appears free of visible structural rust or corrosion, with needed cosmetic repairs done when the car was restored.   

• Safety and Comfort features

The car’s front power disc brakes bring this car to a quick and straight stop.  Seat belts provide for additional safety are installed for 4 occupants.

All of the safety features work—lights, turn signals, wipers, horn and fuel gauge.

The sound system is the original AM radio that will need attention.

The raised-letter BF Goodrich T/A tires have much of their tread left and look great on the Cragar chrome wheels.
