For Sale: 1984 Mercedes-Benz 300 in Grand Rapids, Michigan
1984 Mercedes Benz 300TD - 3.0L TurboDiesel w/4Speed Automatic -
One Family Owned since new - Original Window Sticker - Very well
documented - Metal Data Tag - (Please note: If you happen to be
viewing this vehicle on a website other than our main website, it's
possible that only some of our many photographs of this car are
presented due to website limitations. To be sure you access all the
photographs, please go to our main website: Garage Kept Motors.) A
300TD is not necessarily a rare car to find, but one in the
condition that this handsome example is in is a rarity. One family
owned with documentation including the original window sticker, and
the Mercedes Benz data tag are also difficult attributes to find
with this vintage of Benz. The original window sticker boasts that
a Mercedes Benz is Engineered Like No Other Car in the World. That
is something that we can agree with, as Mercedes Benz is so often
on the forefront of new technology and safety features. The window
sticker also tells us that the car was originally sold by Wood
Imports Inc, of Detroit, Michigan on 12/3/1983 for $32,140.00. In
addition to spending time in Michigan, the car spent time in
Southeast Florida, just North of Fort Lauderdale, which probably
contributes to the great condition the car is in. This classic Benz
has been family owned since new, and along with the window sticker
includes a folder of documentation and the metal data tag. This
300TD was very well cared for over the years - lots of maintenance
records for both regular maintenance, and small detail
repairs/replacements that many other people may not even bother to
fix. The car is finished in Silver Blue Metallic over blue
interior. Exterior condition is very good, especially for a Benz of
this vintage. Paint, moldings, trim, badges, and lights are all in
awesome condition - this car was definitely garage kept over the
years. The same is true for the interior, it shows very well for
its age. There are a few small cracks on the top of the dashboard
which is very common in the W123 Mercedes generation. Despite the
small cracks in the dashboard, the rest of the interior is in
amazing condition even in places that are known to show issues on
these cars. The seat bolsters show very little wear, the wood
veneer is in great condition, and all four door panels are in great
condition. The interior of this Benz is a great place to be. Under
the hood is a 3.0 Liter Inline-5 cylinder turbo diesel engine mated
to a 4-speed automatic transmission. The turbo diesel Benzes of
this generation were not known for being particularly fast, but
comfort, reliability, and good looks helped make them popular. The
3.0L turbodiesel (OM617A) in this car is known as an extremely
reliable engine, with many vehicles clocking over hundreds of
thousands of miles before an engine rebuild is necessary. Power is
transmitted to the ground through 15 Bundt Pan wheels, which were
one of the lightweight wheels that Mercedes Benz offered on their
cars at the time. Be sure to check out all the photos and video on
