With such a rich history and motorsport lineage that Ferrari has,
it should come as no surprise that Ferrari tries to make each of
their cars connect with their motorsport heritage. Intoxicating
exhaust notes that are full of passion, performance that makes your
mind tingle and body shake from excitement, and body lines that
look as though they are sculpted through divine intervention. All
things make a Ferrari a Ferrari, and with the incoming of their new
2-seater sports car, they wanted nothing left to chance. With the
Ferrari 458 on the way out, the new car needed to be faster, more
exotic, better handling, all while being a fantastic road car.
Ferrari delivered, bringing their newest road car to the forefront:
The 488.
Turbocharging became the 488's secret under the hood, lending some
boost pressure in exchange for some seriously upgraded performance.
661 horsepower and 560lb/ft of torque, giving the 488 a generous 99
more horsepower and 162lb/ft of torque over the outgoing 458. This
is good for a 3.0-second 0-60 sprint, with torque available
throughout the power band for better driving overall. Better
interior equipment and surfaces, better handling and a sublime ride
all yield a better driver's experience that is equally at home on
the street and on the track.
This one-owner Ferrari 488 Spider was optioned in white over red
leather interior. Standard features include carbon ceramic brakes,
slide slip angle control, rear parking sensors, and magnetic
suspension dampening. Options on this car include red brake
calipers, carbon fiber driver zone + leds, carbon fiber central
bridge, horse stitched on headrest, titanium exhaust pipes, colored
mats with logo, "Scuderia Ferrari" shields, In/out electric mirrors
+ homelink, parking camera, front and rear parking sensors, white
rev counter, Daytona racing seats, and other options, totaling at
$40,590 in Ferrari factory options for an MSRP of $326,990.00. The
owner used his car on weekend drives, keeping the car maintained
while it was a weekend vehicle for himself while keeping it in
impeccable condition.
Now available at Canepa, this as-new Ferrari 488 Spider is the
first mid-engined turbocharged Ferrari since the F40, and some of
the similarities are apparent. Blistering performance with the
unique exhaust notes under full load, the Spider diverts from the
F40 by being an excellent daily performer. Fully capable of driving
every day, making the trek to the track and doing some sessions and
making it home by the end of the day, the 488 Spider is a special
blend of performance, heritage and everyday usability.
