Vehicle Description
This 1962 Chevrolet Biscayne has that great classic cruiser look.
But as you dig deeper, you'll find a ton of terrific investments in
upgrades, like the enhanced V8 power, overdrive transmission,
upgraded suspension, and comfy A/C interior. So this is a true
driver's classic.
The '62 Biscayne was the kind of car that announces a new era in
styling. Tailfins were dead, and the '60s were going to all about
sharp styling. It includes the dual creases in the hood, pointed
rear overhangs, and dual pleats that run the full length of the
car. Brightwork was still a priority in this era, and so the
bumpers and trim look great. And the factory-correct Ermine White
shows all of this off crisply. In fact, the most curved parts of
the car are the windshield and rear glass. It's this kind of cool
style that makes it instantly understandable why they would make so
many upgrades to make this one a great driver's car. While you'll
see more investments as you read on, this also gives a nice hint
that it's something special with the lowered stance on
competition-style American Racing Torq Thrust wheels.
A red interior always looks great against the white, but this one
is a cut-above. They took their time to restore this with new
carpeting, door panels, and headliner. And not only do the seats
have a fresh feeling, but also there is a removable cup holder
center console any time you want a more individual feeling. Other
well-done upgrades include a retro-style AM/FM digital tuner and
cold-blowing air conditioning. Even with all these modern
additions, you still get that classic tingle whenever you slip
behind the classic dual-spoke steering wheel and gaze at the
factory gauges with ultra-wide speedometer.
This car was born in the dawn of the small block era, but they
never had one as large as this 350 cubic-inch unit offered from the
factory. Plus, this V8 has been enhanced with an Edelbrock
four-barrel carburetor, Edelbrock intake, and Hedman long tube
headers that add to the power while also contributing to the sweet
sound of the dual exhaust. And as you look through the engine bay,
you're going to see plenty of great supporting components that tell
you this was a thoughtful driver's build. It includes the CPP brake
booster, new steering box, HEI ignition, and an aluminum radiator
w/dual electric fans. It makes for a strong and powerful total
package. Making the most of this added power is the added
confidence of a Ridetech Street Grip Suspension front and rear.
Plus, power steering, front disc brakes, and a 700R4 four-speed
automatic transmission w/highway-friendly overdrive makes this a
classic you can enjoy near or far.
As you look over this whole car, you can see quality investments
