For Sale: 1932 Ford Roadster in Charlotte, North Carolina

Vehicle Description

The classic car world is full of fun creations with wild paint schemes, extreme drivetrains and artful interiors. While those cars are awesome to look at, 10-minute start-up procedures and blind hunts for kill switches and accessory controls frustrate even the most enthusiastic gearhead. Anyone who's spent time around the collector car hobby will agree there's truly something special about owning a well-built cruiser that's comfortable and easy to live with. And this superb Ford roadster is just that - a completely functional vehicle that's wrapped in killer hot rod styling. With proven Ford power, an engaging 5-speed and modern air conditioning, this classic was built to be driven. And if you're tired of superficial classics that emphasize appearance over practicality, it's the real deal retro relic you've been longing for!

DISTINCT DEARBORN DEUCE

Built to be cruised, and successfully driven from Denver, North Carolina to the LA Roadster Show, this top-notch Ford was constructed on an excellent foundation. In the world of modern street rodding, it doesn't get much better than 850 pounds of Dearborn Deuce sheetmetal. Twice as heavy as most all-steel reproductions, and, in fact, featuring a substructure that weighs as much as most competitors' entire bodies, every Dearborn Deuce is stamped, welded and sealed by the same Detroit entities that supply major OEM automakers. That level of precision results in a reliable and authentic custom that, in addition to requiring minimal paint prep, retains all its original lines, functional parts and structural integrity. It seems only natural then, that this Deuce's stunning body displays smooth vertical panels and an arrow-straight profile that would give any high dollar garage queen a serious run for its money. And, since a profile that nice deserves to be seen and celebrated, it wears distinct Sierra Gold 2-stage that's somehow delightfully fresh while being decidedly vintage.

At the front of that pigment, color-keyed frame horns hang a polished spreader beneath polished Twolite headlights, a custom stainless grille and a Ford-branded shell. Behind that shell, a 3-piece hood runs 108 louvers toward a smoked windshield that anchors a polished frame between Hagan mirrors and electric wipers. Above those wipers, tight black cloth centers a glass backlite inside a Dearborn-designed, OEM-style top that fully integrates into the car's smooth rear deck. And at the bottom of that deck, simple taillights illuminate a second polished spreader, a body-matched fuel tank and a polished fuel cap.

FORD-POWERED FORD

In some enthusiast's minds, there's nothing worse than finding a stylish Ford hot rod only to fold the hood and discover something akin to a generic Chevrolet small block. With that in mind, the builders equipped this roadster with 351 cubic inches of Ford Racing crate engine that's been carefully massaged to a stout 400 horsepower. At the top of that Sierra Gold mill, a polished intake stacks a body-matched Cadillac air cleaner on a coated Demon carburetor that's finished with polished stainless fuel lines. That intake pushes air and electronically sourced fossils through proven Ford heads, which cap polished Ford Racing valve covers with a polished Ford Racing breather. At the front of those heads, a quality MSD distributor sequences spark between an MSD coil, MSD 6AL ignition and loomed Taylor Spiro Pro plug wires. At the base of that distributor, Billet Specialties Tru Trac serpentine components spin a polished Powermaster alternator and coated AC compressor between coated Sanderson headers. And in front of those pulleys, a 2-speed Cooling Components puller fan, complete with a Dakota Digital controller, backs a beefy Walker radiator.

BUILT TO CRUISE

Under this impressive custom, a Kugel pedal assembly kicks a modern hydraulic clutch, which jerks a tough Tremec 5-speed that's linked to a 9-inch Ford axle. That axle, fitted with a posi-traction differential and 3.50 gears, rides a triangulated 4-link suspension that's dampered with proven Ridetech coil-overs. Opposite that polished 4-link, polished wishbones and polished Ridetech shocks frame a traditional Super Bell axle. That suspension rolls under a sturdy Dearborn Deuce chassis, which seats manual rack-and-pinion steering between Wilwood disc brakes. A high-octane soundtrack is provided by Flowmaster Hushpower mufflers, which bark through polished stainless tips. And at the corners of the car, stainless-capped Wheelsmith wires spin 175/60R16 Goodyear Assurance radials in front of 275/60R18 Nitto NT404 Extreme Force radials.

JUST CUSTOM ENOUGH

Inside this awesome roadster, class is the name of the game as tasteful Saddle leather creates a stylish complement to the car's unique paint. Pop the doors and you'll find a contoured bench that's both firm and supportive. At the sides, French-stitched panels hang stark black accents in front of modern power windows. Below those panels, tight carpet floats piped floor mats around Lokar pedals, a "V8" branded shifter and a polished Lokar parking brake. At the front of that carpet, an Auburn-style dash centers Classic Instruments All-American telemetry above controls for modern air conditioning. And in front of the driver, a '40 Ford steering wheel laps a painted, tilting column.

This fully sorted Ford is a wonderful classic to drive, enjoy and turn a few heads in. It's really no surprise that these cars are amazingly popular with almost everyone who sees them, because they mix distinctly American style with a great ownership experience. So, what are you waiting for? Grab the phone, park this roadster in your garage and get ready for years of carefree cruising!
