Vehicle Description
This 1985 Chevrolet C10 Restomod pickup is the direct result of
someone taking a 'Square Body' and turning it up to 11. With a
killer lowered stance, a strong-running fuel-injected 5.3L LS
Vortec V8, an array of solid options, a custom interior, and a
head-turning teal paint job, it's got a unique look that totally
works and turns heads everywhere it goes. Take a closer look,
because this dropped Chevy is a very cool truck.
The builders of this truck threw all caution and subtlety in the
wind during the restoration (completed just 3,258 miles ago),
electing a loud color and a wicked stance to go along with all that
added pop under the hood. With that bright teal finish, it's got a
clean look that seems a lot more customized than it is and it holds
up under scrutiny. Sure, it's not without its imperfections, but
the finish has a complete look that you'd expect for a truck that
was built to be driven and enjoyed. Despite the low, wide look,
this C-10 is mostly composed of stock bodywork, although the cowl
hood up front and the smoothed tailgate out back do a great job to
bookend the truck with a little custom touch. The door handles
haven't been shaved, the top's not chopped, and the mirrors are
still in place as well, resulting in a clean near-factory look that
makes the lowered stance and bright paint job look even more
impressive. The factory grille is still place, although the center
strip and Bowtie were painted to match the body, and we have to
admit we like the look, especially when combined with the LED
headlights that add a cool modern touch. Chrome bumpers fore and
aft really pop against the teal paint and one look in the spray-in
bedliner protected bed proves that this truck never really had to
work in its life.
The interior was nicely upgraded at the time of the build yet still
manages to still keep a stock-style vibe, with comfortable low-back
bucket seats that can surprisingly seat three, or two with the
middle seat folded down into a big, roomy arm rest with cup
holders. The chairs are obviously modern and they work rather well
with the rest of the C10's interior, covered in a plush black vinyl
that's in great shape. There's a taut headliner above, plush black
carpets below, matching door panels include controls the power
windows and locks, and the newer black dash pad provides a nice
contrast to the teal stock dash it protects. The factory gauges in
the billet-style bezel were replaced by Intellitronix digital units
that provide a far more accurate reading of the engine's vitals,
while also lighting up the cab with their fluorescent luminescence.
There's also a kickin' Pioneer AM/FM/AUX/Bluetooth stereo system,
functional modern air-conditioning with R134a refrigerant, and a
three-spoke Grant steering wheel atop a tilt column to manage the
helm. It's clean, tight, and ready to use.
Power comes from Chevy's rugged 5.3 liter Vortec V8, which has been
a mainstay in pickups for quite a while. Neatly transplanted to
retain OEM functionality, it looks like it was born in there. The
engine bay is detailed as if it were an OEM build, with a few
bright red and chrome accents to tie it all together. With fuel
injection, it starts quickly and runs beautifully and can be
serviced at any Chevy dealer with no issues at all. A modern
4-speed automatic transmission was also transplanted, and with
power steering and power 4-wheel discs, it's a real pleasure to
drive in almost any condition. Thanks to the overdrive
transmission, this is a nice highway cruiser that gets surprisingly
good gas mileage for a full-sized pickup. Underneath, the chassis
is very well finished, with shorty headers feeding a dual exhaust
with throaty Magnaflow mufflers that give it a fantastic
soundtrack. The was suspension lowered to give it that aggressive
rake, which really emphasizes those flashy 20-inch Boss Motorsport
wheels that were painted to match the body and the wrapped in
255/45/20 front and 275/55/20 rear blackwall radials.
A cool truck with a lot of time and effort invested in the look and
nothing done that would hurt reliability or the ability to use it
every day. And that's why we love this Square Body Chevy. Call
