1963 RENAULT DAUPHINE DE LUXE, ARIZONA CAR.
Here a pretty rare little french car, not only is it a Dauphine but the much rarer DeLuxe model and it is a US version, not a late import from Europe.
The successor to the hugely successful Renault 4CV (over a million produced) the Renault Dauphine was even more of a success with over 2 million cars made.
Inline 4 cylinder engine and to begin with a 3 speed manual transmission but later it got a 4 speed trans, they were great little cars.
This Arizona Dauphine has been stored for an unknown amount of years until recently when we found it. We have started up the engine and made sure it runs good but with too many big frame off restorations in the shop we don't have time to do much else with the car.
The body is close to excellent as far as rust needing repair (it has a fair amount of surface rust as you can see). Mechanically it is complete. I think that it will be a driving car again with a brake rebuild and the engine oil pan is leaking a little so the gasket should be replaced.
New tires and we just swapped the windshield for a used but good one.
The car is at my restoration shop in down town Phoenix.
The Arizona title says it is a 1960 but the VIN says 1963 by the way.
If a buyer wants us to we can do the brake rebuild, fix the oil pan leak etc, just let us know.
We sell all over the US and since 1986 we have exported cars all over the world.
