Vehicle Description
This Fire Truck retired from the Boulder City Fire Department in
Clark County, NV. Boulder City sits next to the Hoover Dam and the
Boulder City Fire Department assists the Hoover Dam Fire Department
as needed. This ladder truck was assigned specifically to the
Hoover Dam. It is retired, but retains all of its equipment. A 1984
Ford F8000 cab and chassis is the base of the truck. It is powered
by a Caterpillar 3208 10.4-liter diesel V8 engine backed by a
3-speed automatic transmission and uses air brakes. Emergency One
of Ocala, FL, added all of the firefighting equipment. This truck
has a 50-foot ladder with an attached water line and a remote
nozzle at the top. Hydraulic jacks at the rear of the truck provide
stability when the ladder is extended. The integrated pump mounted
below the ladder has the capacity to pump over 1,000 gallons of
water per minute. A power take off utilizes the Caterpillar diesel
to run all of the firefighting equipment. The lights and mechanical
siren all work, and wiring remains installed for radios and other
communication equipment. This fire truck has a clean CARFAX
history, is rust-free and it is in good condition.
