1950 Ford F1 1/2T on Pickup
I found the 1950 Ford F1 frame and body in New Mexico. The seller had disassembled the truck with intentions of restoring it, but never found the time. I bought it in 2013. It took 6 years to complete the frame-off restoration. I purchased a rebuilt 239 V-8 flathead small block engine from Shaw City Motors in Fresno, CA. I tried to buy as many original used parts as possible. Most of them were from Bob’s F-100 Parts CO. in Riverside, CA. The truck has a four-speed granny transmission on the floor, a stock oil bath and canister, a rebuilt two-barrel carburetor, an original radiator, which has been flushed and reconditioned, and a stock gas tank. All the wiring is new cotton braided, duplicating the original. I replaced the brakes and all of the window glass. I kept the truck as original as possible except for dual exhaust, Coker bias wide whitewall tires and an aromatic cedar wood bed. The paint is urethane in an original 1950 Ford F-1 color, Monsoon Maroon.
Included with the truck, but not installed, is a heater, weather stripping and electric windshield wipers (Currently it has the original vacuum wipers). The speedometer does not work. I am estimating that there is 550 miles on the new engine.
