Vehicle Description
GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this breath taking 1939 Ford
Standard Coupe! This immaculate classic comes in a stunning maroon
and black paint job complemented by a spotless beige interior.
Powering the Ford is a 221 cubic inch V8 motor mated to a crisp
manual gearbox. This vehicle comes to us from an elite private
collection where it has lived since 1962! During its time there a
full restoration was professionally completed as well as various
general maintenance. Additionally, a locally well known classic
automobile shop recently went through the Ford giving it a clean
bill of health. So if you're in the market for a top tier piece of
automotive history, you'll be hard pressed to find a better example
on the market today! Please contact us today for more
information.
The Ford line of cars was updated in 1937 with one major change,
the introduction of an entry-level 136 CID (2.2 L) V8 in addition
to the popular 221 CID (3.6 L) flathead V8. The model was a refresh
of its predecessor, the Model 48 and was the company's main
product. The 1937 Ford featured a more rounded look with fine
horizontal bars in the convex front and hood-side grilles. The
front grille was V-shaped, rather than following the fenders into a
pentagon shape, as on the 1936 model. Faired-in headlights were a
major modernization found on both the Standard and DeLuxe trim
versions, though much of the rest of the design was shared between
Ford's two lines. A larger water pump was used to help aid in
cooling.
