The Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 Gran Sport presented here, chassis no.
8513034, is a fourth-series example of the vaunted model.
Unfortunately, nothing is known of its pre-war history. The car was
discovered in February 1956 by Kurt Miska in a wrecking yard on
Long Island, NY, where it had been abandoned by an insurance
company in November 1955, possibly due to the outcome of an
insurance claim. In March 1956, it was reportedly acquired by Tom
Powel. It may have been fitted with a two-seat coup� or drophead
coup� body when found, or such a body may have been fitted by Powel
during his ownership in the 1960s. This body was possibly cream
coloured and, according to Gordon Barrett, possibly by Zagato.
In the mid-1970s, the Alfa was returned to Turin, where it was
rebodied by the Carrozzeria Pettenella as a lovely Gran Sport
Spider in the style of Zagato, a body that 8513034 wears to this
day. Carrozzeria Pettenella existed from 1973 to 1976 and were
highly regarded as experts in the field of Zagato coachwork. Not
only did the company fit high-quality re-created coachwork on
original chassis, it also engaged in the manufacture of a very
small series of 6C 1750 Gran Sport Zagato Spider replicas that were
constructed from the ground up. Quality and accuracy were
magnificent on all Pettenella projects, and 8513034 is no
exception. Now, more than 40 years after its construction, the
coachwork has mellowed wonderfully.
It is believed that the car was without its gearbox and other parts
when it was discovered in 1956. For this reason, the gearbox as
well as the front axle and steering box have been replaced. It is
likely that this took place when the car was restored and
reconstructed in the 1970s. In the 1980s it was acquired by the
Hoyle Collection, which was a private collection based in the North
of England.
In 1999, chassis 8513034 was purchased by its current owner, who
has participated four times in the Mille Miglia as well as many
other classic car events, such as the Ennstal Classic and
Kitzb�heler Alpen Rallye. It is believed that the car has had five
owners, at the most, from new. It has a FIVA category B4 identity
card and has been maintained by marque specialists Feierabend in
W�rzburg, Germany.
Presented in traditional red with dark maroon leather upholstery,
chassis 8513034 presents very well throughout. Coupled with superb
performance and drivability, this is an irresistible car with a
near perfect vintage sports car design. It has been driven
enthusiastically in classic car events and is ready to provide its
new custodian with exciting new adventures behind the wheel.

experte dans le domaine des carrosseries Zagato. L'entreprise non
seulement �quipait des ch�ssis d'origine de carrosseries recr��es
de grande qualit�, mais en plus elle a lanc� la production d'une

se caract�risaient par leur qualit� et leur pr�cision, et 8513034
ne fait pas exception. Aujourd'hui, plus de 40 ans apr�s sa

la voiture sa bo�te de vitesses et d'autres pi�ces. Pour cette
raison, la bo�te de vitesses, l'essieu avant et le bo�tier de
direction ont �t� remplac�s. Il est probable que cette op�ration a
eu lieu lorsque la voiture a �t� restaur�e et reconstruite dans les
ann�es 1970. Dans les ann�es 1980, elle a �t� achet�e par la "Hoyle
Collection", une collection priv�e qui �tait bas�e dans le nord de
l'Angleterre.
En 1999, cette voiture (ch�ssis 8513034) a �t� achet�e par son
actuel propri�taire, qui a pris part quatre fois aux Mille Miglia
ainsi qu'� d'autres �v�nements historiques comme le Ennstal Classic
et le Kitzb�heler Alpen Rallye. Il est probable que la voiture n'a
connu tout au plus que cinq propri�taires depuis l'origine. Elle
est accompagn�e d'une carte d'identit� FIVA cat�gorie B4 et a �t�
entretenue par le sp�cialiste de la marque Feierabend, de W�rzburg,
en Allemagne.
Pr�sent�e dans la teinte rouge traditionnelle avec sellerie en cuir
marron, cette voiture offre une belle pr�sentation � tous points de
vue. Affichant d'excellentes performances et une bonne facilit�
d'utilisation, c'est une voiture irr�sistible qui repr�sente la
quasi perfection en mati�re de voitures de sport anciennes. Elle a
�t� utilis�e avec passion lors d'�v�nements historiques et elle est
