We just acquired this very nice and very well built 1971 Dodge
Challenger Pro-Street from the widow of a local Mopar collector and
enthusiast that passed away a few years ago. She told us that her
husband originally bought the car in the early 2000's as a roller
and restored the car himself being completed in late 2005.It was
built as a driver, not a race car or trailer queen and definitely
has some ''old school'' nostalgia to it that really makes this
Mopar a super cool ride .CHECK IT OUT !!
The body is very straight, solid and clean including the floors
trunk and frame and the tubs look to have been professionally
installed. It does have a fiberglass ''lift-off'' hood and front &
rear bumpers. The ''Panther Pink paint is super slick and smooth
buffed to a deep luster and shine. The chrome, trim, weather
stripping and glass are all in great condition. The interior is old
school ''Pro-Street'' with a 6 point cage, covered racing bucket
seats, custom dash cluster, custom carpet, factory dash pad, door
panels and headliner.
The engine is a professionally built ''pump gas'' 440 c.i. big
block that has been balanced and blueprinted and assembled using
some of the best parts money can buy. I have a $3500.00 receipt
from the machine shop stating everything that was done. I can tell
you that this engine is just plain ''NASTY'' It runs real strong
and sounds wicked. It is backed by a 727 torq-flight automatic
transmission with reverse manual valve body and a 3000 rpm stall
convertor and a sure grip posi-traction rear with 4:30 gears.
Other features include manual steering and brakes, leaf spring rear
suspension, frame connectors, Hooker Super Comp headers, Flow
Master exhaust, electric water pump, aluminum radiator with
electric fans, 15'' Centerline wheels with Mickey Thompson
Sportsman tires and so much more.
A lot of time and money went into this build and it shows. Built by
an Old School guy that obviously wanted to build a nostalgic Old
School Pro-Street !! Don't Miss It !!
