Vehicle Description
The 1974 Pontiac Firebird and Trans Am Super Duties were the very
last of the high-performance cars from the '70s. A total of 943
were produced for the 1974 model year. Of that number, only 731
were equipped with the Pontiac 455 Super Duty engine and Heavy-Duty
Hydra-Matic transmission. This Super Duty Trans Am received recent
a 1,000-hour rotisserie restoration. The body was stripped and
found to be in excellent condition, other than for a few minor
parking lot door dings. A fresh coat of the correct Cameo White was
applied and polished. Additionally, a fresh set of the factory
decals, including the all-important "Screaming Chicken," were
replaced in their original locations. The matching-numbers Super
Duty engine (code Y8) and all other driveline components were
carefully disassembled and rebuilt to factory specs. Throughout the
entire restoration process only original or NOS parts were used.
The interior of this Trans Am was ordered with the white deluxe
interior and red accents. Every piece was either carefully repaired
or replaced and looks almost new. All the accessories were checked
for proper operation and repaired or replaced as needed. Included
with this sale are a complete set of the PHS paperwork, warranty
booklet and the Pontiac Division Build Sheet. Since completion,
this Trans Am has been driven only 600 miles to assure that
everything runs and operates properly. Includes window sticker.
