Vehicle Description
Here's a multiple award winning, one of a kind build. It was built
for one purpose, and that purpose is fun. Certainly a noble cause,
so let's explore. It's a custom 2002 Mustang Convertible that's
loaded to the max with upgrades and extras to pin the adrenaline
meter. How about a shot of nitrous? The highly lauded 4.6L SOHC V8
gets a boost from a ZEX nitrous injection system, with a generously
sized bottle mounted not-too-subtly in the back seat. The revs will
build fast so there's a huge Autogage racing tach in the line of
sight. It comes complete with a shift light so that you can move
the 5-speed floor shifter on time. The pristine body is coated with
Satin Silver Pearl paint with just the right contrast coming from
GM Titanium stripes. Mustang aficionados will appreciate the 67
Mustang gas cap on the decklid, the Bullitt fuel door, and the
amazing Ford Bullitt chrome wheels and custom spinners. The coolest
aspect of the wheels is the deep offset in the back. Nice. A
tonneau cover by Saleen gives the car a roadster look and somewhat
hides the huge nitrous bottle. Overhead is a thick padded roll bar.
In the back, there's a Steeda race wing. Oh yes, and the gullwing
doors. These PMP vertical doors are super trick. They open skyward
which is perfect for shows, and they'll also open conventionally.
The hardware has got to be right to pull this off, and this is a
high quality installation. More surprises await in the trunk. In a
custom like this, you might expect to find subwoofers back there.
This Mustang is indeed endowed with the appropriate audio
accoutrements. But the entertainment includes video too. Under the
decklid is a big monitor connected to a DVD player between the
subwoofers. Very nicely done. One other Mustang hallmark is the
shaker hood scoop. Yet you may have never seen one in chrome. And
there's lots of chrome and polish under the hood. There are brushed
aluminum knobs and switches in the car, the Bullitt gas cap, and
UPR chrome tail light frames and other pieces that pickup the
brightwork theme. The car sits about two inches lower than stock
thanks to Steeda Sport Springs. Handling is further enhanced via
Tokico struts and shocks. Luxury abounds as well; with air
conditioning, power windows, cruise control, tilt wheel, and of
course luxurious leather seats all part of a very complete package.
Mustang Enthusiast Magazine featured the car, and its image
appeared in ads for the World Ford Challenge in Muscle Mustangs and
Fast Fords Magazine. It's definitely an attention grabber. This
car's attitude screams "anything goes." It may very well be that
the fun began with the build itself. Now it's your turn.
