Vehicle Description
There are interesting cars, then there's "This vehicle was an
exclusive, built at the Roush Livonia Michigan facility to be
featured in an unproduced movie called "Run." How about
"Development Vehicle for M90 Mustang Powertrain Certification." The
director/writer/producer was to be John McTiernan who made some
flicks you may have heard of. His resume includes Predator, Die
Hard, Die Hard With A Vengeance, and The Thomas Crown Affair. The
car was originally part of Roush's fleet for product development
and testing. When the studio approached Roush to create vehicles
for the film, the Roush crew customized this car and two others.
This is an intriguing vehicle with or without the Hollywood
connection. As a 2005, it predates the 427R by three model years.
But the car served as a development vehicle for the M90
supercharged powertrain. Roush's engineers were all over the car,
tweaking all systems to perfection. The 4.6L overhead cam engine
has been fortified with the M90 ROUSHcharger, intake manifolds,
intercooler, air induction system, radiator, the Roush calibrated
ECM and custom fuel system. Everything works in harmony to generate
a solid 445 horsepower and 409 pound/feet of torque. When you open
the door, you'll see that this Mustang means business. There's no
back seat, but instead a hefty roll cage with carbon fiber wrap. A
flat-bottom racing steering wheel provides the ultimate in control.
A big Roush racing memory tach is mounted in full view, and Roush
gauges also monitor boost, plus oil and water temperature. Carbon
fiber adorns the dash and center stack, while the seats are
Corbeau/Roush units with RJS racing harnesses. This is a super fun
ride. A five-speed manual with Roush shifter helps to keep you in
the power band, and a drift style handbrake system is for, well,
you know. Let's just say that movie stunt drivers love these. The
exterior was treated to a complete Roush 427 body kit and 427R
striping. A big change that separates this car from the pack are
the flared rear fenders. They accommodate extra large rubber. The
Roush crew did such a great job that the flares almost go
unnoticed, but the wheels are staggered with 18s in the front and
big 20 inchers in back. Track worthiness is definitely enhanced
with massive 6-piston front brakes. Perhaps Roush's most compelling
custom touch is the PPG Argent Chromium paint, which sells at a
cost of $1700.00 per gallon. Jack Roush is a legend in NASCAR, NHRA
Drag Racing, and as an engineer and innovator. His signature
appears center stage on the dash confirming his approval of this
one-of-a-kind creation. Although the odometer shows 30,000+ miles,
the car has only seen about 2000 miles since the Roush crew
performed their magic on the paint and all the performance upgrades
and mods. Movie star, track star, or highway star, this very
special 2005 Roush Mustang 427R is ready and waiting for you to
enjoy now at Maxmotive.
