This 1954 Chevrolet 3100 is one of the coolest ways to represent
the final version of the legendary Advanced Design pickups. They
look amazing customized, and this one is a cut-above with its deep
red paint, a strong V8 under the hood, and a comfy A/C
interior.
This is one of the most iconic shapes in pickups. Chevy's Advanced
Design would be retired in 1955, and so the company was giving it a
proper sendoff. The '54 trucks already come with desirable upgrades
like the one-piece windshield and a distinct front end. That's why
the '54 is one of the best pickups to customize. Finished in a bold
red with deep luster and shine, this one has a true classic custom
appearance. You'll note the big grille up front looks a lot better
than it might have originally (most were painted, not chromed) and
the bed is certainly nicer than new thanks to sealed wood boards
and stainless steel strips that add to the overall bright
appearance. And when it comes to brightwork, the 15-inch Pacer
wheels are huge standouts. But beyond all the flash is still the
fundamental greatness that comes from getting to drive around in
one of the most iconic pickup styles ever produced.
Inside is a nice blend of old and new worlds. The black vinyl bench
has a similar look to what came out of the '50s, but the material
and padding make it vastly more comfortable. The door panels have
the matching black as well as the exterior red. This sets up a
great coordinating appearance on other places like the dash and
durable floor mat. You slip behind the Grant sports steering wheel
mounted on a chrome tilt column. Beyond that are a full set of
backlit AutoMeter gauges custom that fit into the original dual pod
design. You can carry up to two passengers with you in this vintage
pickup, so to make sure everyone stays comfortable, there's an
AM/FM radio with a cool period-correct knob style chrome
appearance. But this is a digital tuner and aux input, so it can be
adapted to work with the most modern music players. And of course,
everyone will love the ice-cold air conditioning.
It wouldn't be a true custom build without a great looking engine,
and this one does not disappoint. You'll be proud to lift the hood
at car shows and showcase the 350 cubic-inch V8. It's been upgraded
with a classic-style Chevrolet air cleaner and modern Chevrolet
performance valve covers. But beyond just appearance, this one has
been upgraded with components such as Holley four-barrel
carburetor, an Edelbrock intake, and shorty headers feeding the
dual exhaust. Plus, the aluminum radiator with electric fan helps
keep this one running cool even if you're in traffic with the A/C
going. The front suspension has been upgraded to a Mustang II-style
independent front unit for great comfort on the road. Plus, the
three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, and power
brakes w/discs up front really make this Chevy a great cruiser.
This one has the right amount of show and go to be the classic
pickup you'll love to take out almost anytime. So if you love to
drive an icon, call today!!!
