Vehicle Description
Presenting a very rare RHD Bentley Mulsanne S in classic Georgian
Silver hand-painted fine lines in St James Red to its waistrails.
The interior is finished in very unique and special factory order,
Harris Opera blue velvet with coordinating blue leather to the
dash, console, arm rests, rear parcel shelf, head-liner and
cantrails. A very rarely seen and delightful combination. Perhaps
not to everyone's taste but we consider it beautiful. Not only
because it is so rare, but with the benefit that it is considerably
more comfortable than leather. And, the car so much quieter given
the considerably greater acoustic benefits of cloth versus leather.
The car was special order of Sir Paul Girolami of Glaxo
Pharmaceuticals. As part of Sir Girolami's order, the car was to be
"badge delete" which specifically referred to the NON-fitment of
the BENTLEY badges on front wings (fenders) and boot (trunk)
MULSANNE S badge. The cars was also to be fitted with special video
equipment but that was eventually cancelled. In more recent times a
multi-CD player has been fitted but an original factory Alpine unit
is available should you be a purist and wish to replace it. Rarity
aside, the condition of this Mulsanne is outstanding. This is a
true 10 out of 10 car that is of top driver quality and standard.
It has some 66,000 miles and yet the car simply looks like it has
done 20,000. All original paint and finishes. The interior smells
like a brand new Bentley, there is no wear on the seats and the
wood is pretty much perfect. This is highly optioned example which
has been meticulously maintained by its 3 previous Bentley
enthusiast owners. The car's second owner was well known and highly
respected Rolls-Royce and Bentley expert; Mr John Shostrom from
Hong Kong, to where the car was originally delivered. (Mr Shostrom
is an industry recognised aficionado regularly contributing his
knowledge and experience to the restoration industry of the
marque). After Mr Shostrom's stewardship, the car was sold and
exported to Canada where she covered few miles by its new
collector/owner. Park-Ward acquired the car earlier this year and
brought all her services up to date. Being a Mulsanne S it has the
4 large round headlamps from the Turbo R and the full length centre
console also from its big brother. She sports her own alloy wheels
with a brand new set of whitewalls recently fitted by us. The body
and paint is in excellent original condition with minimal
imperfections. The car still "dressed" in its original single stage
paint is a fantastic testament to its coddled ownership and
originality. It is high in lustre, completely consistent and just
beautiful. A set of factory Bentley mudflaps are fitted. The
interior walnut wood is in perfect condition and is also the
factory original Rolls-Royce/Bentley factory finish. The rich depth
of the burl walnut contrasts very handsomely with the sumptuous
Harris Opera blue velvet upholstery. The velvet in itself, is in
excellent condition without wear, marks or blemishes and presents
like that in a motor car only a few years old. The seats are very
soft and super comfortable as you would imagine. Simply stunning
and beautiful - in need of nothing. Truly exquisite. The dash
"top-roll", rear parcel shelf and console are flawless. The leather
headliner (also a special order) is simply "like new" and the
carpets still "wool-ball" like new ones. The extra gooseneck
reading lights in the rear quarters were also a special factory
order (they are NOT aftermarket add-ons). Being a "home" spec car,
it does not have the unattractive auto-seat belts or unattractive
steering wheel airbag normally seen in 1991 cars destined for North
America. Having spent almost all its life indoors and in the last
15 years, in climate controlled museum storage at all times, the
car is very clean and dry. Mechanically the car has been well
maintained. The condition and presentation under the hood is
excellent testimony t
