This GT2 beauty from one of our great friends is the best we've
seen. Not only has it been well cared for and hardly driven, to our
knowledge this is the only Meridian Metallic GT2 delivered to the
North American market of the 335 examples. Sometimes it's just nice
to own something no one else can. Perhaps like Picasso's Nude,
Green Leaves and Bust, the bat swung by Babe Ruth hitting a homer
after calling his shot, the Stratocaster Jimi Hendrix strummed the
Star-Spangled Banner on at Woodstock, or hell maybe one day Queen
Elizabeth will sell her Crown Jewels! All super special pieces
respectively as there is only one, suitable for any collector of
sort, we just happen to like one-off Porsches.
Starting design/development in 1999 Porsche shifted gears
throughout the next 2 years when Motorsports decided to focus on
the naturally aspirated GT3 class. Leaving the public with a lower
production run of homologous street-able animals. Essentially 7%
lighter with 10% more power over the all-wheel drive version.
Achieved by more boost from the turbo, more air intake, larger
intercoolers, and less restrictive mufflers. Typical of Porsche
saving weight by eliminating all-wheel drive, rear seats, sunroof,
and a radiator. However also making PCCBs standard, lighter bucket
seats, and providing fewer options. Eventually tacking on the RS
label, the GT2 represents Porsche's fasted production model through
the decades. Chassis 696089 is simply spectacular from every
category and perhaps your crown jewel.
