For Sale: 1966 Austin-Healey BJ8 in Elyria, Ohio

Vehicle Description

Sunnyside Chevrolet of Elyria, Ohio in conjunction with Greg's Sports, Classic, & Muscle is proud to offer for sale this beautiful 1966 Austin Healey BJ8 Phase 2!!!

If you have spent any amount of time on our website then you surely realize that the Pawluk brothers know and love Healeys. As a matter of fact, in some circles we are known better as the Healey Brothers. Oh well, I digress. Let's talk about this beautiful Phase Two BJ8. Recognized as the preeminent Healey 3000 this is the culmination of all the years of Healey production and is represented well here by this extremely nice example.

We are very pleased to have purchased this car recently from a real gentleman and an excellent car buff. When we get a chance to buy a car of this quality, we try our best to get it in the fold.

Let's first talk about a couple of awards this car wears proudly on its badge bar. 2004 National First Prize Senior award winner from the Antique Auto Club of America (AACA). The AACA is one of the most prestigious classic car clubs in America and these awards take a lot of effort, a lot of correctness and a lot of work to garner. Having said that, two years later, 2006, this very same car won a GRAND NATIONAL SENIOR FIRST PRIZE. The most coveted award the AACA has to offer. For the sake of this description I would use two words- CASE CLOSED. In 2006 this car was the best of the best. Period.

Since that time the Healey has been well loved and has travelled about 7500 miles. It is very little worse for wear. The paintwork is still amazing and good with very few imperfections from use. The chrome is beautiful. The interior is beautiful as well and I will let the engine compartment photos and the underside photos speak for themselves. This Healey is sporting a very nice canvass top.

This Healey has been converted to a Toyota 5 speed transmission and I must say it makes driving this car a dream. John and I agree this is perhaps the nicest driving BJ8 either of us has ever driven. If you have purist concerns, we have the original trans and overdrive and it can go with the car no worries.

You may notice in the photos two types of wheels- the simply beautiful 72 spoke chromes and the real knock off style minilites. It will be at the next owner's choice which set of wheels they would like. The second set can be made available for a reasonable price if the new owner would like. We had a hard time picking the look we like so we left the decision to you...

I have just sent a way for a Heritage Certificate from England to verify our strong beliefs that this was born as a Colorado Red car and that it is indeed matching numbers. Once we have that in our possession, we will get it posted. We expect no surprises
Drive it, show it, keep it in a bubble and polish it as a prized possession, the choice is yours once you make it yours.

We stand behind our thoughts on this car by offering our travel expenses guarantee- come see the car and if we have materially misrepresented its condition we will gladly pay half of your travel expenses up to $500.00- this offer had been in place since we sold our first classic and we haven't paid the money yet.... We pride ourselves on having good cars and representing them properly.
