Vehicle Description
This Firebird Formula has 33,267 original miles (the title reads
mileage exempt) and features a turbo 4.9-liter V8 engine with
hood-mounted light-up boost gauges. The hood-mounted light-up boost
gauges were optional in 1980 and standard in 1981. It had a
frame-on restoration, with little to no bodywork needed, and had
one repaint, with it sanded down to the metal, primed, painted in
its original Charcoal Gray and clear coated. The exterior features
Soft Ray glass, tinted removable hatch roof, chrome door edge
guards, body side moldings, black windshield trim and black
headlight bezels. The car was special-ordered with blue velour
interior and carpet, all of which was replaced with new, including
the headliner and any needed worn trim. It was purchased in
Northwood, ND, at Krabbenhoft Chevrolet-Pontiac-Buick and owned by
the same family since its delivery date in April 1981. It's powered
by its matching-numbers 4.9-liter, 301ci V8 4-barrel turbo engine,
featuring turbo monitor boost gauges, and has a 3-speed automatic
transmission with a limited-slip differential. The original AM/FM
cassette radio was replaced with a Pontiac Nostalgia AM/FM iPod
capable radio with a remote, Alpine mini amplifier and four new
Altec speakers, and a new power antenna was installed. You can
cruise in comfort with factory air conditioning, tilt steering
wheel, cruise control, power windows, power door locks and 4-wheel
power disc brakes. The original rims are back on the car. They were
changed out for chrome wheels when the car was new and put in
storage. They are wrapped in Firestone raised-white-letter tires
with less than 1,500 miles. The belts, hoses, weatherstripping,
shocks, battery and exhaust are all in near-new condition. The
engine valve cover gaskets and engine rear seal have been recently
replaced. It also features Rally gauges, clock, electric
rear-window defroster. Almost all restoration receipts, PHS
paperwork, copy of the Window Sticker and original bank purchase
agreement are included.
