1968 Ford Mustang Bullitt For Sale- Factory S Code 390-4V,
Tastefully Upgraded LMC is very proud to offer for sale this 1968
Ford Mustang Bullitt In 1968, the movie "Bullitt" became legendary
automotive cinema with the star being a Highland Green 1968 Ford
Mustang GT driven by the "King of Cool," Steve McQueen. The iconic
1968 film "Bullitt" featured what most experts consider to be the
first modern-day car chase scene, one that was executed with such
innovation and finesse that it became the standard for all that
followed. Longer, faster and more action packed than anything
before it, the 10-minute car chase scene-featuring McQueen as Lt.
Frank Bullitt chasing a black Dodge Charger while behind the wheel
of this 1968 Ford Mustang GT-was the first to use cameras in a way
that put the audience right inside the cars and alongside the
actors. Throughout some of the most intense scenes of the famous
car chase, McQueen could be seen right there, full screen,
clutching the wheel of this very car as he expertly piloted it
through the bustling and winding streets of San Francisco. This
Bullitt offered for sale is an authentic, high quality build of an
iconic car with some modern upgrades to improve performance,
handling and driveability. Starting with an original 1968 "S" Code
fastback that was built in the same San Jose assembly plant (in the
same month) as the two Warner Brothers Mustangs used in the movie.
The car was stripped down to bare metal and painted PPG Highland
Green color with black out tail light panel. The car was
painstakingly replicated with no detail overlooked. The Star mirror
is positioned as it was in the movie so that the camera could zoom
in on Steve McQueen's face, and the radio antenna was repositioned
to the right rear quarter panel. Unbadged American Racing Mags with
radial tires complete the look. The interior was completely
reassembled with a new deluxe black vinyl Mustang GT interior with
wood trim. All the gauges were rebuilt and a GT350 console was
installed with oil pressure and electrical gauges. The steering
wheel is an actual '67 Secura GT 500 leather wrapped steering wheel
as per the movie car. The original AM Philco radio has been
preserved and updated with RediRad so that an MP3 player can be
used without altering the look. The engine bay looks very close to
stock, although hiding underneath the factory style air cleaner is
a bored and stroked 435 ci big block with Edelbrock cylinder heads
producing approximately 500hp.The original 4-speed Top Loader has
been upgraded to a Tremec TKO 500 5-speed transmission with an
overdrive gear to improve highway driveability. Power is put to the
pavement with a 9-inch rear with 28 spline axles. Handling is
improved with the addition of a dual coil over front and 3-link
rear suspension from Gateway Mustang which makes the car handle
better than any stock Mustang. To improve steering feel a power
rack was added and braking duties are handled by Baer disc brakes
on all four wheels. Bullitt is a significant cultural icon in
automotive history that has solidified itself in the hearts of
enthusiasts around the world. Adding this Bullitt to your
collection, will make you can feel just like the "King Of Cool"
himself! Additional Details: 1968 FORD MUSTANG FASTBACK -
