396ci/350hp Engine With A/C LMC is very proud to offer for sale
this 1969 Chevrolet Camaro RS/SS The first generation Camaro was
introduced in 1967 to compete against the Ford's successful
Mustang. For 1969, Camaro had all-new sheet metal except the hood
and trunk lid giving the car a substantially sportier look. The
grille was redesigned with a heavy 'V'-cant and deeply inset
headlights. New door skins, rear quarter panels, and rear valance
panel also gave the car a much lower, wider, more aggressive look.
The wheel wells were flattened with sculptured feature lines
flowing off towards the rear of the car and rear-slanting simulated
air slots ahead of the rear wheel. The front had a full width
chrome bumper integrated with the body color grille surround and
round parking lights positioned on either side of the license
plate. At the rear were wider tail light bezels with triple segment
lenses. The interior was updated with square gauges and an optional
tachometer. Camaro had two important packages available on any
model. The Rally Sport or RS, was an appearance package that
included hidden headlights with the partially see-through headlight
covers, revised taillights with back-up lights under the rear
bumper and exterior bright trim on roof and wheel openings. The
Super Sport or SS performance package provided the big block V8
engine and chassis upgrades for better handling, special striping,
and SS badging. The styling, considered by many Camaro enthusiasts
as the ultimate muscle car look would serve for the 1969 model year
only. The combination of sexy styling and pavement-pounding big
block power has proved to be timelessly popular. Even current GM
designers agree as the design became the inspiration for the retro
fifth-generation Camaro. This well kept and nicely restored 1969
Camaro SS/RS was built in the Norwood, Ohio plant during the second
week of January and specified with the highly desired Code 72,
Hugger Orange exterior paint and trim Code 729, Ivory Houndstooth
Interior. Lifting the functional air breathing hood will reveal the
numbers matching L34 396/350 HP Turbo Jet power plant which resides
in an engine bay that is clean and well detailed. Rarer still, it
is equipped with air conditioning, hard to find with this engine
combination. Inside, the bucket seats with separate headrests are
in excellent condition. The full length console is fitted with a
'horseshoe' automatic shifter and a 4-pack accessory gauge package
for battery, temperature, oil and fuel. The black/woodgrain panel
dash is in above average condition along with the 140mph
speedometer, 6,000rpm tach, clock and AM radio. This Camaro also
has power steering, power brakes, rear-deck spoiler, front spoiler,
and dual chrome mirrors. A set of 17inch aluminum Magnum wheels
with modern radial tires finishes the look of this classic Camaro!
Without a doubt, the 1969 Camaro RS/SS is a muscle car in its
purest and most attractive form, and this Camaro presents extremely
well inside and out. Coupled with the 396 big block and options,
make it a very collectible and sought-after muscle car. Additional
