For Sale 1966 Volkswagen Beetle, Very, Very Rare "Survivor" car. This example was originally purchased on January 15, 1966 in Palo Alto, California from a Volkswagen Dealership named Gus Mozart Inc. In addition, according to the original purchase documents the following dealer installed options were installed: extra fan belt, outside mirror, undercoating, and slotted wheel rings. This is a three-owner local Southern California car that has been lovingly cared for by its owners. The original owner owned it until 2005 when she passed away and the second owner acquired the car from her estate. The current third owners has had it for three years where it has been garaged in San Diego. It still retains the original "black license plates". This car is as original as they get with the exception of one respray of the paint finish in the original grey color. It is a complete numbers matching car(chassis, engine and transmission). It was produced in December of 1966 with its 40 horsepower 1300cc engine mated to a 4 speed manual transmission. There are many beetles that are available for sale that have been used up and then "restored" using all sorts of aftermarket poor quality parts and chrome that just does not hold up. This example, is amazing in that it is almost completely original: from the original bumpers, body panels, fenders, hubcaps, running boards, interior door panels, seats, front trunk cardboard covers, wiring covers,radio delete, all glass, even the windshield.
