"In mid-February 1968, the California Ford Dealers (Ford Dealer
Advertising Fund) began to market a factory-built, limited-edition
Mustang, called the GT/CS, or "California Special". This 1968 Ford
Mustang GT/CS was built in San Jose, California on February 29,
1968. It was then delivered to McCoy & Mills Ford in Fullerton,
California. This car has the original window sticker and in 2013
received an "Elite Marti Report" to confirm the vehicles production
information.
A full restoration was performed to bring this "California Special"
to as near factory condition as possible. The restoration of this
vehicle was performed to a very high level as it shows in the
overall appearance as well the tight feel of this Mustang during
driving.
With a 289ci V8 motor and the original Meadowlark Yellow paint
color makes this car is desirable to all Mustang and Pony car fans.
This car was well optioned from the factory with such options as
power steering, power front disc brakes, air conditioning and tilt
steering column.
The automatic cruise-o-matic transmission and motor have been
rebuilt and perform well.
The body is perfectly aligned and has no noticeable paint. The
interior is also properly restored down to the AM radio.
We highly recommend any interested buyers come take a look at this
historical car.
