Vehicle Description
1984 Cadillac Eldorado
1984 Ads proclaim "Ever since that summer job, you've dreamed of
having your own Eldorado. And now you do, a very special Cadillac
Eldorado. With style all its own and a special way of moving you
like no other car. You were right all along. Eldorado is the car
that dreams are made of.
For consignment the 1984 version the Cadillac Eldorado. Imagine
yourself behind the wheel of this classic that is an all original
car which was only handled by a mere 2 owners, garage kept, and a
mere 89,000 miles that are original, just like this wonderful
luxury car.
Exterior
Woodland Haze, much like a glass of fine champagne, is on the
surface of the straight steel panels which are minding their gaps.
Mid 80's square and rectangle design can be seen throughout this
car, particularly on the front with the headlight and turn signal
light cluster setup which flanks an egg crate outward V styled
grille. A nice shiny bumper below is the bottom frame, and from the
edge of this as it wraps around the front quarter, a stainless
rocker trim bands the remainder of this car. We do note that the
filler panels are coming apart and, in some cases, missing, a
common malady for this era Eldorado. Trim and badging look
excellent with no fading or dimpling. and the outward rake of the
taillights add a nice touch to the back of this buttoned up
example. Standard Caddy wheel covers are seen on all 4 corners...A
TOAST!
Interior
Brown tufted and buttoned velour broadcloth covers the dual front
recliner-esque front wide buckets. The wood applique sash presents
itself very nicely, and again utilizing their square motif for the
gauges and various panels on the dash. A rear bench showing like a
living room couch also utilizes the tufted and button pattern but
sports an embroidered headrest area panel atop. Clean brown carpet
floods the floors, and a nice tight headliner floats above. Lots of
power options attached to the doors and some more broadcloth
velour, wood applique and lower carpet frames everything in the
passenger compartment nicely...I wonder how the other half
lives?!
Drivetrain
Peering into an original unrestored engine bay, we some surface
rust, some dulling and some patina surrounding an HT4100 V8 DFI
original engine. The DFI stands for Digital Fuel Injection and it
is a throttle body delivery system as opposed to the EFI which
utilizes ports. On back is a TH325-4L 4-speed automatic
transmission. Plenty of bubbly "kick" with this mill.
Undercarriage
Some surface rust and plenty of black patina surfaces are seen
underneath. No structural problems are noted. Independent coil
sprung rear suspension, and coli springs on front are seen
underneath, as are power disc brakes all around.
Drive-Ability
I just cannot get enough of these buttoned tufted broadcloth velour
seats. There is something warm and fuzzy as opposed to leather,
although once leather is broken in, it is durable...but...I digress
and this car started right up, ran flawlessly, and is a wonderful
comfortable cruiser with a kick.
A luxury classic that runs well, looks great, and has room for
bringing around some extra friends. I can imagine a night at the
club, laughing at each other's success stories, and then riding
home in pure comfort...mmmmmmmm delicious!
