Vehicle Description
HIGHLIGHTS: Fully and completely restored! Leaving no nut unturned,
this real 1972 Chevrolet Camaro SS350 has been fully refinished
into the streetable show-car of your dreams. Packing a crate 350V8,
5-speed manual and A/C, this split bumper was built with the
intention to look good and be comfortably driven anywhere. This
Camaro is turn-key and ready to fulfill your Camaro wishes!
BODY OVERVIEW: The trim tag near the firewall wears the correct Z27
option code that tells us that this Camaro left the factory as a
real SS350. Today, this Camaro has seen a multi-year restoration
that was finished in 2017. The body received new floors and new
quarters, before the gorgeous silver was laid on the body. There is
no telling how many hours were put into the body restoration.
PAINT CONDITION OVERVIEW: Given the body condition, painting this
car should've been straightforward. It has received a high quality
paint job in its original factory correct Pewter Silver and black
SS stripes. The paint on this car is super slick, and really pops
in the sun!
INTERIOR CONDITION OVERVIEW: The interior condition also caters to
the quality of the restoration. Almost everything on this car has
been replaced or refinished, and is new. The steering wheel is an
original unit that has been cleaned up and is in excellent
condition. The seats are on the original frames, but were recovered
in correct material with new foam.
This car does have a few custom touches, but they are extremely
tasteful. One of which is the gauge cluster, which doesn't look at
all out of place but upon closer inspection is clearly not the
original cluster.
MECHANICAL OVERVIEW: The original engine is long gone, but under
the hood is a crate Chevrolet HT383 small block V8. The perfect
choice for a classic Camaro, this engine has plenty of added
amenities and is more than enough power to make this car enjoyable.
Perhaps the most notable upgrade aside from the carburetor and HEI
distributor is the serpentine belt system. This system is not only
quieter, but is more reliable than a traditional V-belt setup and
easier to change the belt on. The engine is hooked up to a 5-speed
manual transmission, making highway cruising a breeze!
Additionally, this car is equipped with an aluminum radiator. Just
like the rest of the car, the engine bay has been totally
refinished and looks fantastic. It didn't stop there, before it hit
the road, the suspension was upgraded to Hotchkis suspension with a
power front disc brake kit. At the rear you'll find new exhaust,
new gas tank, a 12-bolt rear end and a fully detailed
underside.
WHAT YOU'LL LOVE ABOUT THIS CAR: What's not to love? Nearly every
single component has been replaced or refinished, and this car has
a ton of curb appeal.
WHAT YOU MIGHT HATE ABOUT THIS CAR: If you're a stickler for 100%
OEM cars, you might not like this one much. This Camaro was built
to look like a 1972 Camaro, but to be driven like a new car.
DOES IT NEED ANYTHING? Nothing but a new home!
WHAT BUYER IS LOOKING FOR THIS CAR? If you are in the market for a
2nd Gen Camaro, but don't want to spend the time waiting for the
restoration to be finished and are ready for a turn-key, newly
restored split bumper Camaro. This one flirts with the trailer
queen status, but ultimately, she's ready to drive to the car show.
No trailer needed here!
