For Sale at Auction: 2009 Shelby GT500 in Scottsdale, Arizona
2008 marked the return of the Shelby GT500KR, the most powerful
production Mustang ever. A total of 1,000 units were produced that
year, but demand for the "King of the Road" was so great that Ford
green-lit another year of production. An additional 712 cars were
made for 2009. The KR's supercharged V8 produced 540 horsepower, 40
more than the standard GT500, and was paired to a 6-speed manual
transmission with a short-throw shifter and 3.73:1 rear axle. The
KR also included unique wheels, tires and suspension settings. A
special composite hood with hood pins, unique stripes and badging
set the KR apart from normal GT500s. Stored at a Ford dealership
from new, this KR has 10 actual miles. From The Matt Furukawa
Collection.
